bungle Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 What disgusting comments from Arizona. Anyone who physically assaults a ref deserves the book thrown at them, and the only disappointing thing was he came back before the end of the season. Those of us still playing football at grassroots level know how important referees are, yet they are in short supply. If a referee feels threatened at that level then they simply aren't going to turn up, and we need more refs, not fewer. Any pro assaulting a ref needs to be made an example of, because they get away with it then that kind of behaviour will only increase lower down the football pyramid. Anyone condoning no ban for referee assault is no fan of football.
Arizona Posted 18 January, 2010 Author Posted 18 January, 2010 Semi annual? As in you annually get semis over only ever talking about Saints post-2002? Me talking about things I have actually witnessed has really got your goat hasn't it. I'll tell you what Rory, just for you: - Steve Williams was overrated, his passing is good, but he missed too many open goals. - We shouldn't have won the Cup in '76, Man Utd had a goal wrongly disallowed for offside 3 minutes before Channon headed in the winner in the 56th minute. - We got relegated in 1968 because Ron Davies attempted a stupid overhead kick on the halfway line at Preston and gave the ball away. - Jimmy Case is probably the worst goalie ever to play for Saints. Not a patch on Steve Moran. - What's going on with the Antelope Ground FFS! The Queen Victoria end is just full of pikeys backing the back boards and nobody in the Fratton End never sings. P.S. Bungle, I am going to vote Conservative at the next election. I don't actually like them or their (lack of) policies, I just want to nullify your vote.
bungle Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 Why don't you just go and assault a referee instead, seeing as you are in favour of it?

Rod Le Shearer Posted 18 January, 2010 Posted 18 January, 2010 What we have are bit part midfielders that can only do part of the job. What we need is two driving, footballing, hard tackling, goal scoring midfielders. What we don't need are players that can only do one thing, either sitting, tackling or passing and no attacking threat. those kind of players do not ply their trade in league 1 for a reason though ! It`s very,VERY hard to get hold of that kind of player down here, thats for sure.
GAS Posted 31 January, 2010 Posted 31 January, 2010 Schneiderlin is the best player saints have had in many a year. Pardew is keeping hold of of him and playing him as sub so non of the big clubs come in. We will need such a great palyer when we get promoyed.

ringwood Posted 1 February, 2010 Posted 1 February, 2010 10.48 Leeds United have cancelled the contract of David Prutton, which could allow the midfielder to join Colchester United permanently after he linked up with Aidy Boothroyd's side on loan last week.

He has signed for them. That's that for another 6 months then.
