The way I see it if we continue the way we are we are looking at next season so lightweight or not give it a go.

One other thing if you have a midfield and strikers with no pace it allows the opponents to attack without being caught out.

If that six played the opponents would be bloody uncomfortable with the pace and movement and a lot less likely to feel comfortable especially if Antonio replaced Connolly up front late on.

The way I see it we should go back to 4-5-1 which was destroying oppositions and not play the fecking expert's called-for 4-4-2 which seems almost wholly ineffective!!!!

Purely a matter of opinion. But Pardew isn't going to pick an attacking team.

The formation isn't the problem it's the player selection and how those players are told to play.

Recently when we've played 4-5-1 our midfielders have all played too deep, when we played 4-5-1 against Southend and Oldham we where at our best because Schneiderlin was pushed right up near Lambert we need a central midfielder to do that again, wether it's 4-5-1 or 4-4-2 we need the midfielders getting into the box again.

We're the fifth fecking top scorers in the league.

Apart from Exeter we haven't done much lately and a good proportion either penalties or free kicks.

Quite right, the goals from open play have always counted double.

5th highest. Unarguable.

Top scorer in the league plays for us.

I still say we should play a more attaching setup as we clearly can't defend for toffee so we need to be banging in even more at the other end!

AP Playing him now whilst not having any confidence in him before! Shop window maybe?

Occurred to me, too - we'll know if he's dropped after the window closes (that is, if he's not sold in the meantime).

Wotton played that holding role and allowed Hammond and Schneiderlin to run free. As much as I can't stand Wotton is worked. The only thing about the 4-5-1 was that chances did start to dry up, but then again with the 4-4-2 chances were at an absolute premium on Saturday so perhaps tiem to revert back to it.

can't see AP would put out, what he would consider a weakened team, just to put him in the shop window. Not a chance.

For MK Dons I'd like to see us play 4-5-1 with Wotton, Schneiderlin and Lallana in the middle.

Lallana doesn't add much as a striker, need to get him playing in the middle.

Holmes has to start imo, have always rated him. Pace, naturally left footed who can cross. It does, i suppose leave the dilema, where to play AL.

?????

While he's an adequate option on the left, he's nothing special and if we start relying on him too much he'll just get injured again.

I think he's very good, but not sure where it leaves Lallana who has done well from the left. Holmes gives more natural balance though. At least if Lallana can adapt to a forward, we probably don't need another striker.

We won't have to worry about that until Hammond returns from injury.

I'd like to see speedy Papa on the right to complement Holmes's intelligent play and accurate passing from wide left. Not quite Paine and Sydenham perhaps, but they will give the opposition problems. I also like either Lallana or Connolly forward with Rickie.

(And Antonio off the bench against the rough and tumble teams. Should have brought him on earlier against Millwall imho)

I wouldn't mind us having a look at Gillett in the middle instead of Wotton.

He can't be much worse really.Even if we lose 1-O we can make it up in

the home leg. We have just got to look at Gillett sooner or later to see if we're missing anything.

so you dont think he has pace then? He is one of the only players we have that will get to the byline and cross 1st time rather than try twist and turns, Ricky would appreciate decent ball into the box from that angle. Plus he is only 22, if he stays fit he will do well for us
