ericofarabia Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 God these Millwall taters are useless. I take it one of ours got booked ... don't know who though
miserableoldgit Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 Owts owts owtsgmi iwbitn owtsgmi Quite!
Saint Fan CaM Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 Goal kick Saints. No goal threat for ages. Millwall continue to apply pressure and don't appear to be tiring too much.
SNSUN Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH your mouth out son...
trousers Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 So adding three strangers, plus one player who has been out long term, doesn't unsettle a team at all? Sometimes it has the opposite effect of course
.comsaint Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 Seems to me AP is playing for the draw, despite his big words before the match about a win being important. We might just nick this 1-0 with the luck we've had so far today.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 So adding three strangers, plus one player who has been out long term, doesn't unsettle a team at all? Yes no doubt, but did we need to start with 3 new defenders? We have two experienced ones warming the bench.
S-Clarke Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 i know it's not easy to judge a performance miles away - but it sounds like our problem today has been the midfield, they have not controlled the game or supplied anything for lambert or Lallana - that's why we've just been on the backfoot.
Matthew Le God Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 Yes no doubt, but did we need to start with 3 new defenders? We have two experienced ones warming the bench. Have these 3 defenders conceded yet? It is Saints as an attacking force that has been lacking.
VectisSaint Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 So adding three strangers, plus one player who has been out long term, doesn't unsettle a team at all? Its a risk, but a calculated one, AP will have seen them work together, and have been satisfied that the gamble was worthwhile. Can't see bringing in Holmes was a risk though. Thats why we have good players in the squad. If he'd played Pulis then that would have been a risk, actually that would have been suicide come to think of it. Some changes were enforced anyway, Jaidi is injured, Trotman is gone, so what was he supposed to do?
Saint Fan CaM Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 Just hoofing it out - no midfield threat - no attacking presence. We're going to be lucky to get out of this 0-0.
Liquidshokk Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT???? Antonio?????????????
Saint Fan CaM Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 Antonio for James. Ooooh should get the boo boys moaning on here.
S-Clarke Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 Antonio has gone upfront with Lambert lallana to the right.
Minsk Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 Antonio on for James? We now need Papa or Connolly on for Holmes.
SNSUN Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 Have these 3 defenders conceded yet? It is Saints as an attacking force that has been lacking. My thoughts exactly. PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE please, and NOW! EDIT: He heard. Antonio, work us up some of that non-League magic.
Liquidshokk Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 I'd laugh if Antonio scores the winner... I'd give my right arm if that happens.....
S-Clarke Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 oh i wish this would stop ****ing breaking up
merrimd Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 Yes no doubt, but did we need to start with 3 new defenders? We have two experienced ones warming the bench. Sums up your indeep knowledge of football tbh. So, the fact we have 3 new defenders playing, who incidently are keeping a clean sheet, something we have not done away from home all season, is the reason why we are defending so much! I would have thought it was the fault of the midfield or strikers, but hey, guess you know best.
ericofarabia Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 Dangerous free kick on edge of the area. Millwall taters having a right go at the officials .... mucho lolage :smt081
.comsaint Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 I'd give my right arm if that happens..... He (Antonio) has been brought on for a tiring Millwall team
sotonjoe Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 Yes no doubt, but did we need to start with 3 new defenders? We have two experienced ones warming the bench. That's a different discussion. I posted in response to Alpine who said we've found our level because we're sturggling against good teams (or something similar).
S-Clarke Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 ooh chance. that's the difference that antonio makes.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 Free-lick to Millwall. Harris way over. Strange sub by AP....Solent reckon its because he's looking at next weeks games. Antonio almost gets in behind defence and skins them.
Nexstar Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 Hmm, maybe a good decision on Antonio's pace...
Amesbury Saint Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 I'd give my right arm if that happens..... who are you going to give it to?
Under Weststand Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 Antonio straight away behind the defence causes havoc good cross cleared.
Liquidshokk Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 He (Antonio) has been brought on for a tiring Millwall team I did fear for my right arm then
Saint Fan CaM Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 Antonio almost scores again! This guy is making a difference.
SaintBobby Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 Merrington's an idiot. A few moments ago he said that he didnt understand why Antonio had been pushed up front when we had Connolly and Waigo on the bench. Then when Antonio breaks through he says this was exactly what he meant and what he was asking for. Moron.
S-Clarke Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 great play from antonio he's a great sub - still believe he shouldn't start though.
alpine_saint Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 I know with 3 new players we need some gelling time, but this is still very disappointing.
Minsk Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 Its a risk, but a calculated one, AP will have seen them work together, and have been satisfied that the gamble was worthwhile. Plus Seaborn is not available for the next 2 games and Perry probably wouldn't manage 3 of them in a week.
.comsaint Posted 16 January, 2010 Posted 16 January, 2010 Eat those words Antonio knockers! Well...nearly.
