John D Posted 14 January, 2010 Share Posted 14 January, 2010 Hi I suspect this a bit of an idiot's question but... I am replacing my home desktop PC this weekend. I have all my emails stored on outlook. What is the best way of transferring them to my new PC. I have a portable hard drive that I can copy all the data on to (for word/excel/pictures etc) but not sure how to do it for emails. I could go back to the Sky server for them as it is a sky email account but that would be a bit of a hassle. any advice appreciated Cheers John PS: Any tips on best laptop to get for approx £
Pancake Posted 14 January, 2010 Share Posted 14 January, 2010 In Outlook or Outlook Express? A .pst file with the emails in is the easiest way IMHO. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829971 Create the .pst file, move all the emails in to it, then put the .pst file on the external drive, move it to the new PC and import it into Outlook.
