Saint_clark Posted 14 January, 2010 Share Posted 14 January, 2010 Team we have should be good enough Indeed, if we don't go up this season we should sack Pardew.
david in sweden Posted 14 January, 2010 Share Posted 14 January, 2010 Fonte isn't cup tied for JPT. Well thats one saving grace, then...but I suppose the other two are 'though ?
Glasgow_Saint Posted 14 January, 2010 Share Posted 14 January, 2010 Indeed, if we don't go up this season we should sack Pardew. The playoffs should be the aim....if he doesnt make the playoffs then he needs auto promotion, with no questions next season.

Glasgow_Saint Posted 14 January, 2010 Share Posted 14 January, 2010 No sh!t, Sherlock. Some on here will make excuses for him (next season) if he doesnt achieve auto - I can 100% guarantee it!!!
SNSUN Posted 14 January, 2010 Share Posted 14 January, 2010 Some on here will make excuses for him (next season) if he doesnt achieve auto - I can 100% guarantee it!!! I also wouldn't sack him if we get promoted through the play-offs. As long as we go up, which was the aim the Chairman wanted when he appointed Pardew. david in sweden Posted 15 January, 2010 Share Posted 15 January, 2010 Indeed, if we don't go up this season we should sack Pardew. thats a bit harsh...considering that he started with -10 points, and every other manager on 0. There are a lot of L1 managers who won't get sacked because they didn't get to the play-offs ..but did successfully avoid relegation .
John B Posted 16 January, 2010 Author Share Posted 16 January, 2010 With the recent new signings how do people rate our chances for the playoffs this season Not really sure myself but I am glad that we now face Huddersfield and Swindon in March when the new players will have bedded in to the team. Defence looks good but it is the creativity side of things which still worries me a little After todays game and the first chance to see our new players what is the reaction now. Nexstar Posted 16 January, 2010 Share Posted 16 January, 2010 After todays game and the first chance to see our new players what is the reaction now. Think Fonte is a good signing, Seaborne perhaps backup, Ostemebor undecided. Lee Holmes could be cover down the left but we severely missed wing play today by the sounds of it. I would say we definitely need another striker or attacking midfielder.
SFC Forever Posted 16 January, 2010 Share Posted 16 January, 2010 Since our defeat at Leeds we have started to wobble. Defeat followed at Colchester and a draw today at Millwall. Our record against the top teams is not good and this could stop us from getting closer to the playoffs. Today we played with a new back four and this last game might have had a different result in a week or two. I can see our back four tightening up so how will we fare? I think we will finish in about 8th place. Any higher will be a bonus in my book. Our biggest loss of points recently though is something I feel that could have been avoided. AP has been far to negative and this will always cost points in the end. I am beginning to wonder whether AP has a basic flaw in his armoury. He says we want to go up but then doesn't pick a team to take the game to our opponents. Why, is he still scared of losing more than he is confident of winning? John B Posted 16 January, 2010 Author Share Posted 16 January, 2010 Why, is he still scared of losing more than he is confident of winning? Because he is that type of Manager I think. Having been brought up watching the Saints in the 1960s/1970s I dont like his type of football too negative for me
