They enlisted sailors and troops from Aldershot, so presume the Saints' fans they were talking about came from either of these two groups. The Skate from Romsey, on the other hand! :smt021

I would help! Don't want the game to get called off and have to wait another week to see them lose again.

good thinking, get another game in before the Embargo is lifted and they buy themselves out of trouble.

Also get the games in before their players start coming back from the African nations.

Exactly what I was thinking! Where would we be without our weekly portion of neighbourly hilarity!

Although free tickets is the only way I'd want to see them play, and even then I'd probably just stay at home and watch BBC News 24.

The skates from Romsey that you saw happen to own one of the main pubs in Romsey town centre. To be fair, as far as skates go, they are about as good as it gets... decent blokes by all accounts... and I have £20 on the way when Pompey go down from one of them.

The funniest thing was when one skate announced that he was doing it for a free ticket because it is normally impossible to get tickets for their games.

I never realised that all their games were automatic sell outs. I thought that those empty seats had not been sold. Clearly someone is going round, buying up al the tickets and then not bothering to distribute them!!

I think it's more a case of being just plain embarassing for Pompey. Having your local rivals from two Leagues below come and help you clear the pitch. Imagine the shame if it was the other way around.

I was one of them,I was ****ing all over the pitch to defrost the snow,I also had a dump in the goalmouth to generate a bit of extra heat.

I'm sure it will blend in with the rest of the `stadium'

There are no Pompey fans in Romsey apart from one of my neighbours and he refuses to talk to anyone. What pub are you talking about?

Pompey will be asking us to lend them fans to fill their ground next...

You know, none of our resident skates will ever, ever, be able to live it down if saints fans got free tickets....

What about the fould stench lordy?

Who were the obviously mad saints fans, at fratton park helping to clear the pitch of snow!

Cant be for the free tickets!

Well done! I think its great to see Saints fans doing their best to allow Pompey to complete their defeats and relegate!

I'd love to see the state of their pitch after Saints fans armed with a shovel had been let loose on it . :D

To be honest they'd probably improve it... never seen such a wavey, uneven pitch!

Nah, it's because the Skates won't accept a promise of a cut of future giro revenue as payment anymore. They want cash.

Did they not check the weather forecast. Snow will all have melted by tomorrow lunchtime anyway. Excellent waste of money by giving away those tickets. Mind you they have rich Arab owners so they can afford it! LMFAO

Well they wouldn't have sold the tickets so they may as well gain a bit of publicity and increase attendance with a stunt like this.

I went along! My best mate is a pompey fan so i went along with him to show that the majority of saints fans dont want them to go completely out of business.

Couldnt help taking a cheeky gob on the centre circle though...:p
