Draino76 Posted 12 January, 2010 Posted 12 January, 2010 It looks like only me and my boy going now. Hopefully their will be some family pubs nearby. Can we collect the tickets at there ticket office? Please excuse any grammar errors; I'm very clever but I'm rushing.
krissyboy31 Posted 12 January, 2010 Posted 12 January, 2010 Good to see they've gone to extra time tonight. That should give us an edge on Saturday (provided we haven't got jet-lag that is? ).

RedAndWhite91 Posted 12 January, 2010 Posted 12 January, 2010 happy to see them going to E.T It wasn't a game to phone home about though was it.
NorthamSteve Posted 12 January, 2010 Posted 12 January, 2010 ... and they have. Gives us a mental edge, also they could be a bit tired.
NorthamSteve Posted 12 January, 2010 Posted 12 January, 2010 It wasn't a game to phone home about though was it. ouch
Torrent Of Abuse Posted 12 January, 2010 Posted 12 January, 2010 It wasn't a game to phone home about though was it. Well good football is an alien concept to both sides.
Farnboro Saint Posted 12 January, 2010 Posted 12 January, 2010 Good to see Millwall stretched to ET tonight, that extra 30 mins plus penalty defeat might make a big difference on fitness and morale come saturday. I for one have a really good feeling about this game, much more so than the first game of the season against them. We have a much improved side, on a fairly good run. As long as we keep Morison in check we should be fine. Have been to the new den 5-6 times and only had trouble once (the one time we wore colours) so i wouldnt let Millwalls reputation put anyone off going to this game...we need as many behind us as possible. Personally...i cant wait! COYR
NorthamSteve Posted 12 January, 2010 Posted 12 January, 2010 I agree, one of the safest ground in the country as long as you don't take the ****. (I say that in a sort-of East-end accent!)
oxfordshire_saint Posted 13 January, 2010 Posted 13 January, 2010 I seem to remember when we played them in the CCC back in 2005, the "yoof" thought it was a good idea to try and start a chant of "will we see you lot outside?", if they could refrain from that this time and not make us look like a bunch of lairy idiots, that'd be greatly appreciated. Let's hope the majority of our support are going for the beer and 3 points, sadly there'll be some knobs.

I remember as an 11 year old watching Saints v Millwall at the Dell in 78 - the away fans in part of the Milton, next to the Milton Road quoir separated by only a single, thin line of policemen. Unbelievable these days. We were in the Archers. Inevitable fighting in Milton end all match, far better entertainment that what passed as football on the pitch.... West End Saint Posted 13 January, 2010 Posted 13 January, 2010 happy to see them going to E.T Me to I hope they are puffed right out and we turn them over if we are going to make the play off's it is a must win. We need to go on another run 5 or 6 back to back wins & we will be right in the mix we have had a good rest some new faces in bit of training in warmer climes COYS lets be aving you

Was this the match where the yoof were also chanting "Will you run away again?"...as it's London, will there be those very witty BNP chants again?

Looking forward to this game, very pleased that they have had to go to extra time and our boys have had a bit of a rest with Huddersfield called off. Be good to see Fonte make his debut as well. COYR!
suspect everyone Posted 13 January, 2010 Posted 13 January, 2010 Just bought my tickets for this. Psyched. Hoping for a good showing from a rested and revitalised Saints. There's been a fair bit of snow overnight and this morning in London. Hoping this won't affect the game on Saturday. Think its meant to warm up a bit on Friday. Will be having a few bevs London bridge way beforehand.
Danny R Posted 13 January, 2010 Posted 13 January, 2010 Visited one of their sites yesterday and they are very volatile. Say that they will be waiting for us and asked whether we will be running away, again. We have just got to win this one to shut them up. I will deffo be running away.
oxfordshire_saint Posted 13 January, 2010 Posted 13 January, 2010 Was this the match where the yoof were also chanting "Will you run away again?"...as it's London, will there be those very witty BNP chants again? Not sure, but it seems to happen more often than not now. Can we have the away tickets seperated into 2 types? One allocation for football fans and another for football factory fans?
eelpie Posted 13 January, 2010 Posted 13 January, 2010 3-1 Saints. I shall take it on foot as per usual from Paddington and visit the Tate for the Turner exhibition in the morning. http://www.tate.org.uk/britain/exhibitions/turnerandthemasters/default.shtm Great exhibition, but get in early. You can then get the Tate Boat to Tate Modern and leg it through Clink Street (lol) and the Borough Market pubs to London Bridge for South Bermondsey and the police escort to and from the ground. The perfect day!
saints_is_the_south Posted 13 January, 2010 Posted 13 January, 2010 1400 tickets now sold, 700 shifted in about 48 hours so we can still be hopeful of having atleast 1800 up there.

Farnboro Saint Posted 13 January, 2010 Posted 13 January, 2010 Lol, i'll try not too mate....no promises though. Just keep me off the beater! To be honest, i would accept being sick on my shoes again (and yours for that matter) if we get a win on Saturday.
Weston Saint Posted 14 January, 2010 Posted 14 January, 2010 Possible team? ---------------------Davis-------------------- Otsemobor---Seaborne----Fonte---Harding --------------------James------------------------- Lallana---Schniederlin---Hammond----Waigo -------------------Lambert------------------------- Subs- Bialkowski, Wotton, Perry, Gobern, Mills, Holmes, Paterson

Weston Saint Posted 14 January, 2010 Posted 14 January, 2010 No Connolly?Still injured and 50/50 so doubt he will be risked
oxfordshire_saint Posted 14 January, 2010 Posted 14 January, 2010 can u buy on the door? OS says it'll be possible subject to availability. I'm hoping so, as I have no cash until then! Anyone know how many we've sold now?
Cricketphilly Posted 14 January, 2010 Posted 14 January, 2010 As quoted, the George (Out of London Bridge and turn left towards Southwark) is a cracking old pub, set back in a courtyard on the left so keep your eyes peeled. Very picture postcard Dickensian, hidden gem!
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 14 January, 2010 Posted 14 January, 2010 I wouldn't want to start three new defenders all together, I wouldn't be totally sure they would know each others game so to speak.

Antonio (good impact player as sub)....and always before Holmes (who has not played for a long time and not good enough)
Gudz Posted 14 January, 2010 Posted 14 January, 2010 I allways drink in a pub near Surrey Quays the loacals bought me a pint last visit Which boozers that mate? My girlfriend lives round those ends & I'll be starting my day from there so if there's a friendly pub in-between then I'm all ears.

Take Holmes out of subs and put Antonio in his place.

Could be the aptly named Surrey Docks I guess. There is also the Moby ****, not a very salubrious place in my student days but probably more up market now. Reminds me of a very infantile game we used to have when I was at Imperial, took it in turns to find the most dingy downtrodden pub that we could and take everyone there of a friday night for some slumming. Most of them were more friendly than yer upper class watering holes. ottery st mary Posted 14 January, 2010 Posted 14 January, 2010 You are right, I forgot about Antonio remaining with us. Take Holmes out of subs and put Antonio in his place. I will always support you coach.....Perry (til Jaidi gets fit) is still there while new CB bed in...hopefully very quickly...Selection will be left to Pards and you coach:D

Antonio from the bench has been terrific, especially away from home. Add to this Millwall scouts will have seen him struggle in recent weeks and not even mentioned him in their reports so he can be our surprise. Having said that Perry will start.
SaintSi Posted 14 January, 2010 Posted 14 January, 2010 as it's London, will there be those very witty BNP chants again? No that was a Bethnal Green special.
Thedelldays Posted 14 January, 2010 Posted 14 January, 2010 I will be amazed if he starts seabourne and fonte unless he has no choice....add the new RB...3 new defenders at an away game to a decent team? cant see it

I do not rate the man, neither does the management apparently otherwise we would not have signed 2 new CBs. Game reading is one thing, physical presence is something else.

Window Cleaner Posted 14 January, 2010 Posted 14 January, 2010 we probably signed two CBs as perry and probably jaidi will not be here next season/feature much at all the defence has cleary been identified as our Achilles Heel, apparently Pardew was furax after the Colchester game, not surprising ,the goals were really lamentable and could easily have been avoided if our CBs weren't so slow.I've always said we need 2 CBs and a RB before anything else. Looks like he leans towards my point of view as well.

The Angel Gabriel Posted 14 January, 2010 Posted 14 January, 2010 ..... still 2 days to go. Might have a few more signings by then. Strangers in red n white shirts if we're not careful. Hope their shirt names are printed in big letters !! We'll be the ones shouting "Whoooooo" when they announce the team.

Our midfield where much of our talent lies is totally nullified by that because they have to scrap for second ball rather than having time to create from source. Hoofing just means that you can have the best creative midfielders on this earth and they are totally useless to you.
Griffo Posted 15 January, 2010 Posted 15 January, 2010 I'm not travelling if I can't be sure that they're selling them on the door. What is the likelihood?
saints_is_the_south Posted 15 January, 2010 Posted 15 January, 2010 Got 1 spare ticket if anybody wants it. Either meet at Southampton Central for about 7.45 for the 8am train or can meet in London Bridge area. PM me if interested.
Sour Mash Posted 15 January, 2010 Posted 15 January, 2010 I'm not travelling if I can't be sure that they're selling them on the door. What is the likelihood? Thought they've said tickets would eb available on the door? Or alternatively, see the post directly below yours.
JRM Posted 15 January, 2010 Posted 15 January, 2010 I'm not travelling if I can't be sure that they're selling them on the door. What is the likelihood? I called up Thursday lunchtime as got a mate in London who might come as well, but doesnt want to decide until the day, the ticket office said there are 500 left and therefore buying them on the door should not be a problem.
Gordon Mockles Posted 15 January, 2010 Posted 15 January, 2010 Possible team? ---------------------Davis-------------------- Otsemobor---Seaborne----Fonte---Harding --------------------James------------------------- Lallana---Schniederlin---Hammond----Waigo -------------------Lambert------------------------- Subs- Bialkowski, Wotton, Perry, Gobern, Mills, Holmes, Paterson That's the team I'd predict except maybe starting with Perry rather than Seaborne rather than 75% (but who knows?!) of the back 4 being debuts that have never played together. I'd imagine Lallana will be on the left with Waigo right though.
