Professor Posted 12 January, 2010 Posted 12 January, 2010 There is a whole string of mid-week games coming up, caused by getting to JPT southern semi, FA Cup 4th round, and weather postponement. Should League games take absolute priority? What sort of selection should AP make for the two cup competitions?
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 12 January, 2010 Posted 12 January, 2010 I think the League and JPT should take priority over the FA Cup. Realistically we're not going to win the latter but we can make the playoffs and I'm sure most of us fancy a day out at Wembley with the JPT.
Thedelldays Posted 12 January, 2010 Posted 12 January, 2010 Put the FA cup well below everything else on the priority list

A genuine chance of silverware and a morale boosting day out at Wembley for us fans. Tidy!
CWD Posted 12 January, 2010 Posted 12 January, 2010 Play the best available team for everything. It sends the wrong message to the players and the fans if you send out a team that clearly implies "well it doesnt really matter". We are trying to reinstate ourselves as a top club in english football. The way to do this is to win promotion, win trophies and beat higher league opposition, gaining media attention on the way. We have a chance to do this so lets go all out I say.
hypochondriac Posted 12 January, 2010 Posted 12 January, 2010 I would expect us to bring in somecover in this window to allow us to give some players a rest. Pericard might have been a good bet to provide that but I believe we can get better.

Midweek games for about 6 weeks in a row, the team was already looking "stale" Think we'll be ok if plans work out, but we're not the only ones who will have trouble, PL is running out of spare days as well, and players like Rooney are being run into the ground at the moment. Not good for our WC chances at the end of the season
Saintgaz Posted 12 January, 2010 Posted 12 January, 2010 Play best team every game. Surely it is not too difficult to play 2 games a week? I'd bet the players would rather play a game than do training!!!
saintsfannick Posted 12 January, 2010 Posted 12 January, 2010 Lets get a millwall thread on the forum someone , promote it
brianoneils slidingtackle Posted 12 January, 2010 Posted 12 January, 2010 League first, JPT second, and FA cup third....we have a squad that should be able to cope with the first two at least.....
Junction 9 Posted 12 January, 2010 Posted 12 January, 2010 It'll be a blessing is disguise if Ipswich knock us out of the cup.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 12 January, 2010 Posted 12 January, 2010 Good. I enjoy midweek games. Professional footballers should be able to play those fixtures.
