Right, Im moving home today and need to take sky with me... however... my HD box broke last night... so I'm wondering if I can set up a new account at the new home and get a new box at a discounted rate. Has anyone done this or have any experience with it?

If you're not under contract with them on your current package I would have thought you could just cancel and start a fresh once you've moved into your new place. I've heard of other people do this.

thing that worrys me is the bank account details will be the same from which they take the money each month...

damn it, looks like you cant do what i want without being a non-sky subscriber for 12 months... plan B it is then...

Any chance of doing a multi-room/wi-fi 'fiddle' or are you too far away?

no chance, they check by seeing if the box is connected to the correct phone line, if its not, they cancel the card!

Plan B. (ex)Wife orders new sky package under maiden name. She says shes not bothered about HD, order HD anyway, gives me HD box, keeps my spare sky+ box, everyones happy... well, me more than her... but screw it!

I moved house and to a different broadband package. Sky do actually cancel your old subscription and start it up again.

I just hope they dont take several weeks in getting your broadband goign if you have that with them as well as they can be right buggers.
