sotonjoe Posted 12 January, 2010 Share Posted 12 January, 2010 http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A61715108 you'd have thought he would get bored replying.... oh and on another topic, a forest fan posted saying he's heard rumours of Nathan Tyson coming down to us. fwiw i heard we were after him in the summer. (and then there was another link with him a few weeks ago) This is pretty interesting and puts the situation in a different light. So Stock replied to me and other people about his Saints intentions. He's obiovusly fairly relaxed about the whole thing if we know he has told at least two strangers about it on Facebook. As I said, he wasn't happy about us posting about it on the Donny Forum though, I think he thought that was a bit nasty. So let's avoid any of that sort of behaviour and could cause trouble amongst his current team mates and fans. From my communication with him, i genuinely beleive he wants to be able to play for Saints but I gather that he does not wish to burn his bridges with donny as he doesn't know whether or not the move will come off. LeBenali Posted 12 January, 2010 Share Posted 12 January, 2010 First up I expect the players and the management team are training in Spain this morning as you would not leave first thing after staying the night. So let's say the flight gets to Soton late afternoon, we then have talks and medicals which would suggest some news late tonight or early Weds morning. It's gonna be a long wait guys! There flight doesn't get in until 8pm this evening, so nothing at all will be organised until at least tomorrow. I reckon we could be waiting for the dreaded Friday news again! hypochondriac Posted 12 January, 2010 Author Share Posted 12 January, 2010 You too, which is why I am happy to agree to only slightly differ. My main angle is this is the first genoowine inside info I can remember seeing and it was quite exciting last night (as browsing a webforum goes of course). All the ITK guff we've had over the years and some lad says "I'm going to ask him" and he did and got a response. It was just great, it was a nice thread to see taking shape yesterday. Of course there is no harm in keeping it off for now and lets hope we do sign the lad - he's local and second tier quality, so what's not to love. Fair response. I suppose I should be happy I was spared a sarcastic put-down.

sotonjoe Posted 12 January, 2010 Share Posted 12 January, 2010 If O'Driscoll walked out of Doncaster Rovers, would the club's management want to let him take Stock with him anyway? supersonic Posted 12 January, 2010 Share Posted 12 January, 2010 I doubt SOD would want to take Stick with him, seeing as he's on the brink of selling him (if the rumours are true). alpine_saint Posted 12 January, 2010 Share Posted 12 January, 2010 Hmm, it looks like censorship is alive and well! I've just read on another forum that as well as the Stock thread being removed, certain posts from the Benali thread have also been deleted. I'm assuming this is on instruction from the club. With this and the petulant behaviour to the Echo and Benali it looks like Nicky Cortese has more in common with a certain ruddy faced duck hunter than we thought! And if it came out later that we lost him because of gobsh*teyness from you and your ilk, how would you feel then ?
once_bitterne Posted 12 January, 2010 Share Posted 12 January, 2010 And if it came out later that we lost him because of gobsh*teyness from you and your ilk, how would you feel then ? I'm assuming that you are in favour of a total news blackout during January where we should all only discuss the weather on here and check the OS for pictures of new signings holding a scarf? How would I feel if Stock didn't sign? TBH, not that bad as he really aint all that.... I realise Alpy that you aren't exactly the smartest contributer to this forum but if you really do believe the postings on fan's message board could derail a transfer then you are even more moronic than your mind-numbingly tedious posts over the years have shown you. But just in case you really do believe that.... A heartful message to Doncaster Rovers player Mr Stock. Stockie, are you listening? You really are the worst excuse for a player that I have ever seen. You play like Hayden Mullins but without as much skill and flair. I have no wish to see you in a Saints shirt and if I do I must promise you that I will boo your every touch with a Delap-esque fervour. Further more I will kidnap you cat and urinate through your letter box. Best wishes for the season, o_b (think that should do the trick)

SNSUN Posted 12 January, 2010 Share Posted 12 January, 2010 I think all managers that take jobs elsewhere should have a clause in their contracts stating that they cannot take players from their old clubs for at least six months. (I expect smart clubs do this already.) Having never seen Stock play, I can only say what others say on here, and it has got me excited. If he's Donny's best player, then dropping a League makes me salivate. Fonte was one of Palaces best players, and while they're financially screwed, it shows we have the persuasion to entice players to SOuthampton. We have to hope that the new manager of Donny if also as much as a fan of Gillett as O'Driscoll was, but I figure that any new manager will want to keep his best players, which, unless the deal is already nearly done, spells bad news for us. Tyson is a forward, Stock a midfielder. Looking at one doesn't impact the other.
