Look, not difficult to find, and as mods want it kept off of the forum and don't want links suggest we are wasting time doing so.

 

If you really want to know the update on "stock saints" - suggest you google that and I am sure you will find all the updated information you require - possibly on first page of results!

agree that just because something is out there is should not mean everyone should report it.

also agree that it is a betrayal if genuine.

 

However, as it is on at least two major football forums, and is being widely discussed, is easily found on google, is not offensive or libelous - I do think the mods are being ott in stopping it being discussed on a saints forum.

Brian Stock talks about being excited about moving to Saints on Facebook and it somehow makes the deal fall through (not sure why it would, because Doncaster are hardly going to want to keep him) then that's Stock's problem and the clubs decision to bin the deal.

 

How is it the fault of this forum, and who is going to blame this forum?

 

When that dopey Palace player did the same thing (he was going to Fulham I think) it was the player that got it in the neck. The player. No one else.

 

I saw the Stock story develop last night and it was the closest I've seen any forum get to a genuine story. It was this forum at its best. Not least because it was one lad brave enough to ask a player and then report the answer. Not some pompous "ITK" giving it large. A genuine, delicous exclusive. Fantastic.

 

And then the mods delete it because they don't want to upset Cortese. Good god.

 

I think the people who run this forum are letting their egos run away with themselves. You're just not that important chaps.

I really hope stocky does not get disciplined for what was a stupid thing to do.

 

It could put the transfer at risk and also risk him taking fines etc at his current club.

 

Some people need to realised that information given privvy to them needs to remain as such, there is no harm in saying things on a forum such as 'i have it on good authority' etc etc but actually posting stuff like that is stupid and arrogant.

 

And as for the post earlier (can't remember who it was) i agree, i have been reading a lot of teams message boards recently and we have an increasing number of arrogant Tw*ts posting and trying to wind up other fans.

Actually Ponty asked the majority of posters on the forum at the time and everyone agreed it would be best to delete. Nothing to do with the mods at all. Besides, why would we want to cause trouble for a player who has just signed?

Guess it depends on what John Ryan is like. If he were to see that picture, it might make him want to get rid faster, but if he's bloody minded it might make him pull the plug on the transfer and stick Stock in the reserves for the rest of his contract... Unlikely, but you never know...

What on earth possessed you to think this is anything about upsetting Cortese?

 

If you read my answer properly you'll see that it was hidden in case the facebook post was not made by the player in question.

 

If Brian Stock genuinely posted that on his page the we would be more than happy to re-reveal the thread. How that is supposed to be an indication of enlarged ego is truly a mystery to me.

yeah after reading our fans comments on their forum i feel ashamed. what must fans think of us...no wonder the leyton orient fans thought were were a 'billy big boll**ks' team when we were asking for more tickets down there. Some of our supporters attitudes stink.

Yeah we might have money and yeah we might be finially on the up after a long hard struggle and yes we might smile more often on saturdays at 5pm now but that is no reason to go around and taunt others teams over our recently success on and off the pitch.

Agree! No need for it and not true fans in my opinion!! Just think back to a year ago and see it makes you more humble

Try googling "Doncaster Rovers forum", clicking on the second search result and looking at the recent posts to see if any of them is called anything to do with Brian Stock... then perhaps looking down towards to bottom of the thread to see if there are any links...

It has also created some unbelievable pomposity. It's a web forum and all a bit of a laugh.

 

If a footballer is dopey enough to start talking up his own transfer on facebook more fool him and fair play to whoever found it and spread it about a bit.

 

I thought forums like this were poke and prod the ridiculous edifice that is professional football, not be an anodyne outpost of the PR wing of the Football League.

 

It's not about impatience around Stock's signing, I couldn't give a stuff if it takes an hour a month or we don't sign him. Until he signs he hasn't signed, fine.

 

But this was a lovely little mini-story created by this forum and it has been stamped down so we don't upset the club or the player (diddums!). Where's the fun in that?
