There when Franny scored Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 I have it on very good authority that Neil Danns is definitely signing today though it may not be announced until Monday. Be interesting to hear what Pardew says on Solent this afternoon I guess. Exciting times!

Joesaint Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 my head cant take all this good news, maybe I should support Bournmouth, err no actually I think I can get used to it COYS
There when Franny scored Posted 9 January, 2010 Author Posted 9 January, 2010 Probably not the best idea for me to reveal it but given the links that have been discovered on another thread it doesn't take Colombo to work it out!
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 Not nice to be a Palarse fan right now...
The Kraken Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 I have heard the same, from an ITK at Palace. I guess we'll see how ITK he really is...
bug187 Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 He is expected to make a move to Southampton with deal expecting to in the region of £950,000. According the ever reliable wiki
Smirking_Saint Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 well i am guessing by that you perhaps mean the pub in portswood, however i thought we worked out it was not a relation ??
DrZuess1979 the 2nd Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 Have anyone seen the saint player video on Fonte. Seems to be celebrating with Danns alot! Could this have been another reason for him to sign No just me then

sadoldgit Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 Not nice to be a Palarse fan right now... Palace are my Portsmouth as I grew up in S London and most of my school mates gave me grief whenever they beat us. After the stick that Jordan gave Lowe I am enjoying a quiet chuckle at the state of Palace right now!
Mr X Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 "Likely to sign" "definitely signing". exactly a mere rumour
Matthew Le God Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 Is this Lad any good then? Yes, he is a good Championship player and regular in a Palace team 3 points away from the play offs, so would shine in League One. As he has done in the past for Colchester.
hypochondriac Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 So Waigo Hammond Danns Lallana or Waigo Schneiderlin Danns Lallana ?
CWD Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 So Waigo Hammond Danns Lallana or Waigo Schneiderlin Danns Lallana ? Lallana Schneiderlin Hammond Danns I think someone mentioned yday that Danns is happy playing on the right?
DrZuess1979 the 2nd Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 Or Waigo Danns Stock Lallana or Waigo Stock Hammond Danns Lallana Lambert Mouth watering
Saint_clark Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 Or ---------Hammond ------Morgan----Danns Waigo-------------------Lallana
dubai_phil Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 Good news. But two sigings of around 1mil pushed through nice and early in the window, leaves me hoping agents don't start messing with the heads of Lallana or Morgan. We sure don't want or need to sell but the magical agent's words - "you're only one bad tackle from a life on the dole" can undo a great deal of other positive news. Let's see if things really are moving the right way for us on the good news front, as these signings at this time could really push us on. Now we just need cover for Lambo and Murty & we may just start to push on again
S-Clarke Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 Lallana Schneiderlin Hammond Danns I think someone mentioned yday that Danns is happy playing on the right? he's been playing on the right for Palace this season.
Toadhall Saint Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 Or ---------Hammond ------Morgan----Danns Waigo-------------------Lallana Yes please.
Andy_Porter Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 So Waigo Hammond Danns Lallana or Waigo Schneiderlin Danns Lallana ? Waigo, Schneiderlin, Danns, Lallana, Connolly and Lambert at home. Waigo, Schneiderlin, Hammond, Danns, Lallana and Lambert when we're away. Simples.
NickG Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 he's been playing on the right for Palace this season. Has he? Probably one of the positions we have been least settled
S-Clarke Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 Has he? Probably one of the positions we have been least settled yeah - well according to the palace forums. I was reading through their match reports/motm reports etc - he features in them a fair bit and he always seems to be on the right hand side. He's scored a few goals this year too.
CWD Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 Has he? Probably one of the positions we have been least settled Indeed, wouldnt be surprised if AP is looking at him more for the RM position whilst also adding cover for MS and DH. sounds like a direct replacement for Mellis (better mind)
SuperMikey Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 Or ---------Hammond ------Morgan----Danns Waigo-------------------Lallana Love the look of that! ----------Davis---------- James--Jaidi--Fonte--Harding ---------Hammond---------- ------Morgan--Danns-------- Waigo----------------Lallana ---------Lambert------------ Subs: Bart, Perry, Wotton, Mills, Connolly, Antonio, Paterson That team would easily reach the play-offs this season imo.
S-Clarke Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 Love the look of that! ----------Davis---------- James--Jaidi--Fonte--Harding ---------Hammond---------- ------Morgan--Danns-------- Waigo----------------Lallana ---------Lambert------------ Subs: Bart, Perry, Wotton, Mills, Connolly, Antonio, Paterson That team would easily reach the play-offs this season imo. but then, what do we do with brian stock (if/when he comes)??? great problem for pards to have
Saint_Mabes Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 Out of interest, Is Hammond not more of an attacking midfielder than Spiderman? Would they not be swapped in your line up? I only mention as I have had bets on morgan to score, but he always seems so much further back than Hammond, it looks unlikely! Agree that that's a cracking looking side tho!
OldNick Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 You may be able to ask him yourselves if you go on Dannzy.com, I think it is his fan site, also has some of his songs on it!!!
ohwhenthesaints Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 I think Schneiderlin could be an effective defensive midfielder in a 3 man centre midfield. Think of him in the Xabi Alonso role - breaking up play and then spraying passes around. He has definitely improved his tackling and work rate this season so it's worth a try in my opinion. Then Hammond and potentially Danns could push on in more attacking roles.
SuperMikey Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 but then, what do we do with brian stock (if/when he comes)??? great problem for pards to have As much as i'd love it to happen, I can't see Stock coming here. I'm guessing if we're interested in a couple of central midfielders (rumoured interest in Scott Arfield from Falkirk as well) then it looks like we may be losing one of our own players to another club. My guess is Schneiderlin, he's obviously a class above this level and I reckon HCDAJ in the Prem, especially at a team like Arsenal where he could really show off his passing game. He's got such good vision and is technically sound, which are two of the most important attributes for a creative midfielder. If he could just add goals to his game he'd easily be Prem class imo.
SuperMikey Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 I think Schneiderlin could be an effective defensive midfielder in a 3 man centre midfield. Then Hammond and potentially Danns could push on in more attacking roles. Theoretically it'd work, but i'm not sure that Schneiderlin could cope with the defensive pressure. He has improved his defensive game a lot this season, but I still think Hammond would work better in that role. Hammond has much more of a box-to-box quality about him which I think could work better in a defensive midfield position. Hammond I feel is built much more like a defensive midfielder in that he has the physical strength to break up play whereas I still think that Schneiderlin is a bit fragile to be playing in an important position such as that. I'm happy to be proved wrong if Pards wants to use the team that I posted, but for now i'll leave it as it is!
Thedelldays Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 dont know if it has been said.. im sure I read someone where Danns was born in southampton and/OR his parents own a pub in the city..?
JibMcdo Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 --------------Davis Gilbert----Ward----Fonte----Harding ------------Hammond ---------Stock----Howard Danns----------------------Lallana -------------Lambert Bart, Jaidi, James, Schneiderlin, Waigo, Arfield, Connolly One can dream.
Toadhall Saint Posted 9 January, 2010 Posted 9 January, 2010 dont know if it has been said.. im sure I read someone where Danns was born in southampton and/OR his parents own a pub in the city..? Gordon Arms - bottom of Gordon avenue in Portswood - allegedly.
