Thanks for putting that right! Five O'clock is for deadline day on Monday, though, I think. ;)

Yes, but don't rule out 'news' breaking on Tuesday.

The FA will undoubtedly have a shedload of FAXes in its memory bank at 1659hrs, waiting for someone to refill the paper tray :)

Indeed wasn't Jaidi announced the day after the summer transfer window closed?

I think he was a free agent anyway.Never any deadline on free agents.

we should be winning more than we are...

that is the answer

According to whom ?

Alan Pardew.

I'm delighted that TDD and myself are shoulder to shoulder with the manager of our football club.

You lot of defeatist p i sswipes can carry on making out that this team is no better than mid table, but our manager wants more than you.

And he's right, and you lot are wrong.

Cheer up ffs, you nearly had no club. You know damn well it can take ages to build a team from scratch, and I doubt you'd rather we hadn't bought lambert, jaidi, Barnard, Harding and so on. Even in poor form we are very hard to beat, hopefully we'll find form soon and move up the league. But however good we become, there will be slip ups, and right away idiots will claim the whole team isn't good enough, because for the most part football fans are impatient and over the top in reactions to short term form.

mate..im just agreeing and quoting what pardew said..

before the millwall game..a few of us got stick for saying it was a "must win"..what happens..pards said it was a "must win"

in the reaction to the brentford game I dared to suggest our form is not that great at the mo...I got no end of stick...and what happens, pards says "we should be winning more than we are"...

how on earth am I wrong or an idiot etc when the manager of OUR club is saying very similar things to what people give some other stick for..?

don't care what anyone says...You look at our team on paper and we should be winning way more games!!! To want us to as well is just nature of the beast!!!!

We haven't played well since Wallsall apart from the second 45 against Ipswich.

I said before the Milwall game if we don't get 9 from the next three we can wave goodbye to our play off chances, we're on course for 5 from three which is no way good enough.

I'm confident of our chances next season but we need to learn how to beat teams like Millwall and Brentford.

I thought we were good against MK dons for the First half but i agree we must play like that on a regular basis in order to be confident of promotion next season

could be a smokescreen so the supporters aren't expecting a signing but would not surprise me if one of these other 3/4 players we were enquiring about became available at the right price on monday that we would strike a deal?

I thought I heard on Solent after the game that reports suggest we are still interested in him. Anyone else hear this or was I dreaming again.

So - according to Solent (who had a reporter at Palace's post-match press meeting) - we have offered £600,000 for Danns & Palace are mulling over the offer over the weekend. Neil Warnock (when questioned about the offer) just shrugged his shoulders & said a move to Southampton would be "a step backwards" for Danns - presumably as we're L1?

"If my players want to go then they'll go. If they want to be here then they'll be here on Tuesday night."

Sounds like the ball is in Dannzy's court, let's hope we can give him a good offer and Jose can put in some good words. However, from following him on Twitter, it seems like he has a lot of links in S.London, music and a night course he seems very enthusaistic about, and I think that as much as anything could count against us.

Pardew never actually said on Solent that we're not after anymore players...he cleverly turned the question around by stating that due to our financial power in this league, then we have no need to sell players before Tuesday. Could well still be after Danns then!

hes got all the rhetoric but never puts his words into action. Full of sh*t, just drivels on about improving and showing quality.

hammond...?

he is captain..?

antonio...he offers real pace which is very important...???

dont know but we're after performances. I think hammond has dropped off a bit recently although we've lacked bite in the middle whist hes been out. So I suppose it might have to be rotation which might not be a bad thing given the fixture pile up coming our way.

Antonio isn't finished article and really think is best coming off bench. Very hot and cold, which im sure you'ld agree

Pardew

"We are now finished for this second half of the season in terms of transfers, and this team now will have to see how far it can go in terms of getting us as close to the play-offs as possible, possibly winning the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and progressing in the FA Cup."

Victor Moses off to Wigan for £2.5m

think 4million was quoted by the admin guy

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/crystal_palace/8489498.stm

Sky Sports News say the same as the BBC.

Perhaps most telling is that it says £2.5m on the Palace official website. :D

"Southampton have made an offer for Neil and a couple of other clubs have made offers for other players, but, no disrespect to Southampton, who have already taken Jose Fonte off us, that would be a backward step unless you want a few quid. And I think Neil Danns' career comes first."

Quotes from a Mr N Warnock of South London :)
