Saint Charlie Posted 31 January, 2010 Author Share Posted 31 January, 2010 Warnock just wants as many good players left behind as possible. He isnt going to be bothered about how much money is raised. He will try to persuade Danns not to leave of course, and it may have worked.
patred44 Posted 31 January, 2010 Share Posted 31 January, 2010 Pat, have you got any knowledge on the whole Danns situation? I know you have some useful sources. The only thing known is that we have bid twice for Niel Danns, the second bid was put in at midday Saturday. We will not increase the bid any further IMO, it's down to the administrator to accept or reject. He knows the time limits, he knows that we will need time to agree personal terms with Danns. Warnocks views will not be taken into account, no more than Wottes views were, when we had the same situation here. They don't seem to have a Leon to come to rescue with help for wages etc.

Can't work it out myself.
Andy_Porter Posted 31 January, 2010 Share Posted 31 January, 2010 If we signed him then we'd have everything, would be really disappointing to build up such a great squad and not manage to win promotion. dubai_phil Posted 31 January, 2010 Share Posted 31 January, 2010 If Warnoock thinks our offer should not be taken seriously, why was it that we were the ONLY club named by him..?????:D I would guess that they are still hoping that Victor Moses will go Barcelona or Real (Sauce was our local rag 7 Days in their "really silly transfer speculation section) Which in his mind would solve the money problems and allow him to keep Danns. dubai_phil Posted 31 January, 2010 Share Posted 31 January, 2010 Moses is going to Wigan for not all that much money. So for the administrator it depends on how much "not all that much is" He will have to run the club until the end of May. He'll have a good idea of the available income. WATERSIDEIFASAINT Posted 31 January, 2010 Share Posted 31 January, 2010 AP would just turn round and say too good an opportunity to miss came up tomorrow if we did sign someone!! For me Danns is exactly that and would be an excellent addition to our midfield which is looking threadbare at the moment.ie not enough quality. We have only one chance of getting this player imo which is tomorrow as he will not join us in the summer as Palace will probably be sorted out by then. We have had a very good transfer window, getting Danns would take it to a totally unbelievable level. So I for one hope this rumour does have serious legs. Under Weststand Posted 31 January, 2010 Share Posted 31 January, 2010 His goals yesterday were class & would love to see him at Saints. As for AP lying, its all about brinkmanship IMHO, If as Patred44 has said is true about a bid at lunch time, then what AP said later on is just sending a clear message to the Palace administrator "were done now"(could be construed in different ways) . If by say 4pm tomorrow the administrator has no other offers for any players & decides that he needs the money from Danns, then he will be on the line to Saints & I would expect AP & NC to would do the deal which is on the table. Here's hoping!

He made that statement at about the same time Puncheon signed. HE WAS ASKED IF HE HAD FINISHED IN THE TRANSFER MARKET NOW, and said yes knowing we already had a live bid in for the Palace player. He isn't going 'we have but there still a bid in for Danns that we're waiting for answer, is he? He'll alert a rival bid. No, he meant he is not going for any new targets IMO Danns is not a new target, in fact we first enquired about him when we signed Fonte.. Followed it up with a bid which Palace turned down. Now we have increased our offer, but this time the offer has gone through the ADMINISTRATOR, and not the Palace board. A deal to sign Danns is on the table tomorrow, AP says "Sorry Mr Administrator my hands are tied, I've made a statement saying no more signings and I'm bound by that!" Now that's got to be crazy. Would NC let that happen with such an opportunity? If we don't sign anyone else the fact is that AP has the players he planned on getting at the outset once he had signed Punch.
