The rumour isn't strong at all, it's just the Echo copying and pasting other articles. All of the papers local to Crystal Palace have never mentioned a deal was even close.

OK we wait till Palace can't pay wages next week.. and get him for nothing !

But if he turned us down today, why do you think he'd sign a deal next week?

if he hasnt been paid by palace by then his contract says he can walk away on a free transfer. Puts him in a better position to negotiate better wages.

So how much have they spent on transfers in the last year?

Yeah, but how many would you say are at premiership, champs league winning potential ?

With the exception of perhaps Barry and robinho at first before he turned out to be not suited to the league ??

lol i love this one

''This is going to sound like i'm WUMing you but i'm not. A hairy looking fella in a big black 4 by 4 pulled up outside the "Hungry Horse" and asked him if he could direct him to Staplewood.

So what - nothing to do with the fact lots of players want to go to Man City

Both would be nice, then we could go into a season with a settled defence for the first time since 2003. If we only got one now, we'd need another in summer to replace Perry.

And also pick and choose from lots of other clubs who will suddenly become interested if he is as god as all that.

I'm assuming we are offering good wages as it is. Would NC and AP want to break any wage structure that we have and risk unsettling other players?

Thats my point, i expect there are many a player that would wish to put pen to paper at saints but how many at a level that would improve the team ??

At league one standards then yes we are the financial powerhouses in this division and probably the CCC as well.

As was seen at city they tried to get the best and couldn't, like it was for hughes it will be AP's job to sell the ambition, potential and dream to players and attempt not to be lumbered with players here just for a pay day.

Why is there like 3 threads on a transfer that probably won't happen?

I'm going to whack you over the head with a big stick, down negative man, down :)
