Colinjb Posted 5 January, 2010 Posted 5 January, 2010 It's snowing heavily in Coventry... and is only going to get worse. Hope the game doesn't get called off on Saturday, first game on the half season ticket etc.
StuRomseySaint Posted 5 January, 2010 Author Posted 5 January, 2010 Indeed, my better half was told to leave work in Romsey early today... and she works for the Environment Agency! I just attempted the drive to Baddesley to get some grit and got as far as the pub... Looks like I might be here for a while. Happy days.
sunrise Posted 5 January, 2010 Posted 5 January, 2010 Call me pessimistic but I don't reckon the snow will lay if we get it - at the moment its just rain.
Dog Posted 5 January, 2010 Posted 5 January, 2010 I just attempted the drive to Baddesley to get some grit and got as far as the pub... Looks like I might be here for a while. Happy days. Keep us informed on what you drink, peanut consumption, ming3 awareness etc.

SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 5 January, 2010 Posted 5 January, 2010 Just ****ing down with rain in GosportWas raining here first aswell, then turned to snow,
cavey300 Posted 5 January, 2010 Posted 5 January, 2010 From Met Office website.... Outbreaks of snow are now not expected to be as heavy as previously forecast. However, a spell of sleet and snow is still expected during Tuesday evening and through Wednesday morning and there is still a risk of fresh accumulations of 10-15 cm locally. Widespread icy roads are also likely to occur. The combination of snow and ice could cause disruption to transport. The public are advised to take extra care and refer to the Highways Agency for further advise on traffic disruption on motorways and trunk roads.
Um Bongo Posted 5 January, 2010 Posted 5 January, 2010 The amount we have now will be enough to cause meyhem tomorrow.

Jillyanne Posted 5 January, 2010 Posted 5 January, 2010 South Today are treating this cold snap like 'Day After Tomorrow' ffs! Let's all meet at a library and burn books.
dubai_phil Posted 5 January, 2010 Posted 5 January, 2010 South Today are treating this cold snap like 'Day After Tomorrow' ffs! Let's all meet at a library and burn books. Best to start off down in Skatesmouth. The ones that have never been read burn so much more easily and there'll be a lot of them
bungle Posted 6 January, 2010 Posted 6 January, 2010 When I walked home from the pub at 1am there was no snow. When I got up at 6am there was snow. Interesting.
JackFrost Posted 6 January, 2010 Posted 6 January, 2010 I'm just north of Skatesmouth and we're under at least a foot of snow here. Can't get into work and just had to clear a load of snow off the greenhouse to stop the roof collapsing under the weight of it
Whitey Grandad Posted 6 January, 2010 Posted 6 January, 2010 Chandlers Ford this morning (for Redondo Saint):
Minty Posted 6 January, 2010 Posted 6 January, 2010 It has been worse the further south you go, hence Calshot/Fawley area and Pompey are worse than Southampton. Looks like we're in for a cold clear night so tomorrow morning it'll be the ice that causes the problems I expect.
