scaramanga Posted 4 January, 2010 Share Posted 4 January, 2010 bought the daughter a new packard bell net book for christmas. it has a trial version of Norton on it that keeps popping up!! i use AVG on the desktop and have not had any problems. the question is do i just pay and get the full version of Norton or risk buggering it up by trying to uninstall it and installing some other anti virus????? Thanks in advance

saint_stevo Posted 5 January, 2010 Share Posted 5 January, 2010 yeah go add or remove but it installs itself deep into the registry etc so its worth using the removal tool (just google it and download) im not a fan of avg since v7.5 and use avira now. Worth a try
sotonjoe Posted 6 January, 2010 Share Posted 6 January, 2010 I remember reading articles which claimed certain versions of Norton could add up to 90seconds to a system's boot up time. There are plenty of free antivirus packages wihch will sort you out.
