TijuanaTim Posted 4 January, 2010 Posted 4 January, 2010 Realize that I may get crucified for this one - anti-American stuff and the like, just feel it's still worth mentioning/debating. This kid has everything ('cept size and experience). He is very SWPish. His main problems have been being in too big a theatre - too early. Freddie is strong as an ox, fast as quicksilver, he has superb feet both left and right. He scores - he creates. Above all, he is a hamble lad with a fantastic attitude - a good person. What he needs is a chance at the right level to afford him the opportunity to grow (Saints next season in CCC for e.g.). If he goes to 'Ull he'll be another good young talent lost in that horrible mire. Altidore is a good talent (not as good as Adu) and he is totally lost playing on Humberside. Freddie .v. our Bart
Saint_clark Posted 4 January, 2010 Posted 4 January, 2010 Quality player but well above us. And Altidore has impressed at Hull, wouldn't say he's lost.
Saints foreva Posted 4 January, 2010 Posted 4 January, 2010 I seem to remember we were linked with him last season by some newspapers, it was a massive laugh. He'd be a good signing imo, but can't see it happening.
Matthew Le God Posted 4 January, 2010 Posted 4 January, 2010 No chance. He is interesting Premiership sides and will be on large wages.
SuperMikey Posted 4 January, 2010 Posted 4 January, 2010 If Freddy Adu leaves Benfica for League One, I will wear a P*mpey shirt for a year without taking it off.
SNSUN Posted 4 January, 2010 Posted 4 January, 2010 If Freddy Adu leaves Benfica for League One, I will wear a P*mpey shirt for a year without taking it off. Thought he was playing for Belenenses. He would be a League One marquee signing, but it wouldn't happen.
tonibell Posted 4 January, 2010 Posted 4 January, 2010 USA International Freddy Adu Considering Hull City Move
TijuanaTim Posted 4 January, 2010 Author Posted 4 January, 2010 If Freddy Adu leaves Benfica for League One, I will wear a P*mpey shirt for a year without taking it off. Yeah, maybe aiming a shade high. Just think a good year for a decent club in CCC would be the perfect stepping stone for him. One step backwards to go many forwards. His wonderful talent and good attitude is in the cr@pper right now Benfica - Monaco - Belenenses all in abot the last 15 minutes...nipper ain't 'ad a chance, as we would say. Saints are famous for nurturing talent!!

Ash Posted 4 January, 2010 Posted 4 January, 2010 I didn't realise he was from Hamble. Maybe we have a chance to sign him then, he can't turn down a move to his home town club surely?

You could spare us the americanised spelling for a start:).Bad spelling from idiots I can take, DIY phonetic spelling from intelligent beings is somewhat harder.Anyway he was pretty dire at Monaco and is currently in Portugal somewhere.

LOL mate ;-)....oh and it's not 'americanised', it is by their definition Americanized FFS

I live there and I'd get crucified by anyone round here if I called it Humberside. It was disbanded for a reason!!! Although Hull's a unitary authority, it's very much East Yorkshire.
Um Bongo Posted 4 January, 2010 Posted 4 January, 2010 Haha Tim, You try this every Transfer window! Are you his agent?

Window Cleaner Posted 4 January, 2010 Posted 4 January, 2010 No insult intended....kinda like using 'Wessex' for the central South I figured... Wessex is an ancient kingdom, Humberside is just the area surrounding a stretch of vile, polluted, brackish water.

Yes, of course, Freddy Adu is going to join a mid table team in the third tier of English football. What a tw*t!
