I don't know if anyone on here has commented on the freddie sears situation yet. It is my understanding that he was recalled from his loan at crystal palace.

Youngster with a bright future ahead of him, now, he only scored once at palace i believe but think he cdajfu in league 1.

Pehaps also has a history with pardew and perhaps with connelly with the latter acting as a tutor perhaps ??

Could be cheapish too, that being said if the price is too high there is better out there

recalled to play in the Premiership because West Ham are short. I'm not wasting my time adding that to the list I'm afraid.

Talking about signings - I see redknapp is trying to take credit for bringing crouch to saints when it was in fact Sturrockl !!!!

He even goes on to say about making his debut for england while being at Liverpool didnt he make it while was still a saint in 2 games in america at the end of the season on the back of brilliant performances for saints. Now i really know HR is a total Knob ???

You do know he doesn't actually write those columns? He has a quick chat with a journalist...he fills in the gaps.

Disappointingly I have been told McClaggon may be leaving. I hope this turns to be untrue but i suppose he needs first team football so his career can grow

That ties in with what I was told - that he wants to play and was looking at other options. But as of yesterday he hadn't gone. I think his contract runs out at the end of the season so its a matter of whether saints will let him go now.

It is a shame but tbh i can't see him getting into the team at the moment, we should let him leave if he gets an offer for first team football instead of letting him to rot.

i thought he looked very capable in a few cameo appearances last season, in a higher division. I still think he could do a job at this level...but you wonder if that bad injury he had has restricted his lightning pace...as he didn't really stand out at Eastbourne Borough.

Craig Dawson a CB at Rochdale who also has bagged a load of goals this season. The bloke who sits opposite me at work had him on his books at youth level and he's highly rated. Rumour has it that S****horpe are in after him.

he's someone I like to. Scored a shed load of goals for a defender this season as well.

Here's a new one (to me anyway):

Southampton have made a £300,000 offer to Falkirk for midfielder Scott Arfield. (The Sun)

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_prem/8447755.stm

I have been told tonight by a friend who lives in Falkirk that Saints have made a verbal offer of £300,000 for Scott Arfield but they wont put it in writing untill the Falkirk board respond. He also said the response would be that it is not enough to prise the U21 international away from Falkirk as he is contracted untill 2013. For what it is worth he said Saints would probably need to up the offer to around £500,000.

That would be a shame and a bad move for Saints.

Pericard in talks with Swindon yesterday Echo says in it's paper edition

perhaps AP thinks Pattison can provide the Lambert backup. I personally think he can, thugh I'd not complain if we signed a Jackson or suchlike.

If we had the choice of signing a player to back up Lambert or a lightning quick striker i'd take the second choice every time.

From what I saw of Paterson last season he looked to have real potential. Just needs a few games, we really should have sent him out on loan for a couple of months earlier in the season.

I'm a massive fan as well. I saw everything I needed to see at the Majeski last season and I thought we should have played him all of last season. I've got no complaints that he has not got games this season as Lambert is almost undroppable, but even so I'd of liked to have seen him given a second chance by Pardew after the poor showing against Brentford. I think a lot of Saints fans saw that game and wrote him off, which surprises me seeing as he was outstanding in the opener against Millwall. Was he injured, that's the only reason I can see for not loaning him out. Hopefull he will be on the bench ever week and come on for either Lambert or Connelly.
