saint lard Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 David Nugent, could he be persuaded to drop down?,Burnley can't afford him. Some suggestions you could get him for just over £2m,now i would take a punt on him any day of the week I will be amazed if he makes it a premier league player, can do a good job in the CCC if/when we get promoted, but in league 1 a sure fire hit, imo. Ok,a very long shot, but you never know in football.
Iowsaintsfan Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 id love to see Kerrea Gilbert here, i really rate this guy
Chez Posted 2 January, 2010 Author Posted 2 January, 2010 No info on Craddock. Inside knowledge Pards had Henderson watch Raynes early season. Puncheon is a player Pards has admired publically. The only info I have had was the Rooney approach which seems to of gone quiet. I fully expect to see one of these in a Saints shirt. Barnard Jackson* Rooney* Puncheon Whitbread Raynes Ward Grant * = snippets I've heard from ITK'ers & none of this Im actually claiming, this is my opinions combined with rumours. which Grant is that?
oxfordshire_saint Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 which Grant is that? Avram? On a serious note, I'm not sure, perhaps John Grant at Aldershot?
Badger Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 Michael Raynes is having a shocking year and most Stockport fans believe that he should be dropped despite being captain. He makes one big mistake per game - bit like a young Titus Bramble. However, he has had to play alongside a number of young CBs and might perform better with an experienced pro alongside him. If we were looking at a young centre half then I would prefer Craig Dawson from Rochdale as highlighted by someone ( possibly Chez) on another thread. Of course there is nothing to say that Aarron Martin might not prove himself for us.
Kelly Smunt Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 I thought Matthew Taylor of Exeter looked extremely solid and pretty good on the ball as well.
Badger Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 I thought Matthew Taylor of Exeter looked extremely solid and pretty good on the ball as well. He has been a key to their rise over the last few seasons but at nearly 28 this is is the highest level he has played at in his career.Although the same could of course be said for Lambert. His age would seem against him but anyone remember Matt Elliott, almost signed by Souness for Saints but went to Leicester instead,at about the same age and was outstanding for them in the prem for the next 5 or 6 seasons ? (Good user name by the way).
NickG Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 difference with Lambert is he has only been forward for 2 years and is on the way up!
Granadino Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 I fully expect to see one of these in a Saints shirt. Barnard Roy Keane has been quoted as saying that Southend want 250k for Barnard, which if true (could well be given their finance and that he is out of contract at the end of the season), is probably worth a punt. Another option could be Kevin Lisbie, who finishes his loan at Colchester this week, and they have said they can't afford to sign him on a permanent.
qwertySFC Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 Andrew Johnson , Birmingham City , needs some match fitness and McLeash knows AJ wants to regain fitness for the Premier league ... Loan to the end of the season perhaps , could AP be the person to get him fit and ready for Birmingham next season // Would like to see AJ up front for us in a final push for the play offs.

Except he plays for Fulham.
Smirking_Saint Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 What about young Fran Merida, Tom cruise or mark randell at arsenal ?? Bostock ?? Danny Rose from spurs ?? Jay Demerit ?? Nathan Ellington from a skint watford ??
Smirking_Saint Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 I'd also love us to steal Hoolahan from Norwich, but it will never happen. Is the Elliot Ward deal still in the offing ??? Chris Lines from Brizzle also rumoured.
S-Clarke Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 Pardew confirms that we have made a couple of bids for players....
Glasgow_Saint Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 Pardew confirms that we have made a couple of bids for players.... Could bring AP's transfer total to 12 players in under 6 months! He will be the envy of every manager in L1!
S-Clarke Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 Could bring AP's transfer total to 12 players in under 6 months! He will be the envy of every manager in L1! tbf he's prob the envy of most managers in the championship too. ...spend what you want, and you don't have to sell anyone..! great job.
Granadino Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 Pardew confirms that we have made a couple of bids for players.... Who's your money on? For me, I reckon Lines and Elliot Ward
S-Clarke Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 Who's your money on? For me, I reckon Lines and Elliot Ward Priority for Pard's is CB - so i'd take a stab and say we've put in a bid for Ward. (we were linked with him before the loan window shut in November) 2nd one is probably a midfielder - lines is a good shout.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 Id be surprised if we knew the identity of both players already - AP has succesfully kept previous targets very quiet.
CalshotSpit Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 After his performance in goal against Saints today for Luton, please sign Kevin Pilkington. I'm sure he wouldn't mind.. Davis wants to end up back at Kenilworth Road anyway. Just swap the two.

jimmysaint7 Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 What about young Fran Merida, Tom cruise or mark randell at arsenal ?? Bostock ?? Danny Rose from spurs ?? Jay Demerit ?? Nathan Ellington from a skint watford ?? think ellington gone to somewhere in greece
Badger Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 What did Craddock play like for Luton ? Any likelihood we will renew alleged interest?
Glasgow_Saint Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 Three more transfers completed today. Add that to the 7 completed yesterday. Meanwhile pic of AP in todays echo
John B Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 Could bring AP's transfer total to 12 players in under 6 months! He will be the envy of every manager in L1! But only two were on the pitch at the end of today's game
Pat from Poole Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 Bierhoff and Skacel? Tore Andre Flo and Petter Rudi.
ottery st mary Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 (edited) Dan Seaborne Exeter Mark Ellis Torquay MacCarthy Palace Butterfield Palace Ambrose Palace Halford Wolves Sorry last two not realistic and I am not sure Fulham would loan us young centre back Chris Smalling now he has broken into their first team squad. Edited 2 January, 2010 by ottery st mary
Chez Posted 2 January, 2010 Author Posted 2 January, 2010 Who's your money on? For me, I reckon Lines and Elliot Ward why is there all this noise about Ward? Was he linked to us in a paper?
ottery st mary Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 Ed Asafu-Adjaye.....Right full back or centre back...played quite well today against Saints at RB....Has speed and good in the air...21/22 years of age..... Not played a lot of football in last 3/4 weeks.....weather and injury...will be snapped up Not sure about Craddock today...
Chez Posted 2 January, 2010 Author Posted 2 January, 2010 Not sure about Craddock today... Luton's strikers weren't the best I've seen this season by a long way.
S-Clarke Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 why is there all this noise about Ward? Was he linked to us in a paper? Lots of noises coming from a few places back in November - we were apparently trying to get him on loan before the loan window shut, but ran out of time. this was reported in the local Coventry echo site as well i believe. It wasn't just us interested though...may have changed now.
Stu Man Do Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 Bierhoff and Skacel? Koller perhaps? ;-) In all seriousness Id love to see us sign a more attacking central midfielder like hoolahan, Barnard at Sauuufend would also be good Im not sure I can see why we'd want Jackson from Gillingham, hardly setting the world alight there and at the prices quoted for him (1.5-2m) defo no thanks! Right back and a center back would also cheer me up thanks ML =]

Well one thing's for sure, he's certainly available: http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/coventry-city-fc/coventry-city-fc-news/2009/12/23/elliott-ward-set-to-leave-in-january-92746-25455959/

SNSUN Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Juktiewicz gone back to Scotland. I think a serious think about Brett Pitman is in order. Bournemouth are letting him go for 800k and he wouldn't even have to relocate! I'll be happy with whoever we sign tbf.
Big John Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Nigel Quashie anyone? I think he's currently on loan at Franchise FC from West Ham, not sure of the terms though.
Matthew Le God Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Three more transfers completed today. Add that to the 7 completed yesterday. How can they be completed on a New Years day(bank holiday) or a weekend? They need to be rubber stamped when the offices open on Monday.
Smirking_Saint Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 How can they be completed on a New Years day(bank holiday) or a weekend? They need to be rubber stamped when the offices open on Monday. Not again, you have made the point on the previous thread
Matthew Le God Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Not again, you have made the point on the previous thread  Takes a while to hammer things home to Glasgow Saint so maybe if he reads it whenever he makes the same mistake he may eventually catch on.

hamster Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 I have a Gills supporting friend who is as equally obsessed with the rumour mill as some on here. This morning he telled me that he has 'heard' that we made a tentative enquiry a few weeks back. Apparently the figures mentioned received no further communication from Saints, around the 1.75 mill mark! I am sure someone will beat them down but won't it be us (at this stage). Shame, as I really like Jackson's laid back, change the game with one move style that would give us that something that many clubs lack. I think of him as a stealth goal-scorer. Some might say that he's maybe not worth more than 1 mill at this stage of his career, but he has the sort of style that doesn't necesssarily rely on fitness, a natural goalscorer who will one day play on the big stage all imho of course
Hatch Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 watching Leeds on the telly now.. Whatever happened to Seth Johnson, is he still with Leeds?
Granadino Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 watching Leeds on the telly now.. Whatever happened to Seth Johnson, is he still with Leeds? No. Went back to Derby after Leeds for a couple of seasons. Now without a club, think he has fitness problems so may never return...
