He's 25 today! :) I know a Coventry season ticket holder and he is bemused as to why he is not in the team. I don't rate Coleman anyway so I don't consider him a great judge of a player. Most Coventry fans I have spoken to consider him their best defender.

Forget and get behind the new signings - this is irrelevant.

Jesus. It's liking banging my head against the wall with some people...

You coming from this situation with no knowledge at all. You don't know what fee Coventry wanted, Ward's wages, fitness, signing on fee etc. Do we really need a high earner in the squad at the moment with Jaidi, Perry, Thomas etc when we can pick him up in the summer (if needed) for free??

Likewise, aside from ONE game at Millwall have you ever seen Seaborne play? Steve Perryman rates him as one of the best ever to leave the Exeter and believes we have done a clever bit of business. At Exeter he was being watched by several CCC league teams and we know Norwich placed a bid for him. Yet Ward is still at Coventry. There is surely a reason for this??

We only have to look down the road to realise how dangerous splashing money around without a care is. It was only 6 months ago that we were in a similar position. I think it is still important the Club is ran sustainably and if that means signing a few players with real potential that could generate a profit if and when we feel it is sensible to sell, rather than sign proven players on big wages, then so be it. I for one never want to be in the position we were in last year ever again.

Pardew's transfer record at this Club to date is spot on and I for one will support his view on player transfers at present.

still there, although public knowledge Coleman wants him out, and was annoyed he has not gone yet - and he was willing to drop a division.

I do wonder whether, and said before, that it maybe as simple as Seasborn was seen as better long term partner for Fonte due to playing styles or being left footed? We have quite a simplistic view of CBs.

Sorry dont want a £150000 player:(

It's only cheap due to him being out of contract in the summer and not wanting to sign a new one, if Leeds make a bid then we may bid again but a bit higher, who knows. According to the Echo Leeds have cooled their interest due to Beckford saying he now wants to stay.

If that's the case then brilliant. Seems to me it was a case of either or though.

Seems to me you don't really have a clue what the case is do you really? It could be a case of either or now while we have Jaidi, Perry and Thomas on the books. That won't be the same case come the end of the season though will it?

Please make it true! We don't need the Barnard type of striker, we need a pacey forward to complement Lambert.

We already have one in Papa but we don't play him in that postion for some reason he's a striker but we play him on the wing. Better to play Papa as a striker and buy a decent right winger I would have thought.

Disagree Doddsy. If you saw the game at Milwall, 2 things stood out.

1/ Lack of pace up front with Lambert. Waigo is not that quick, but is an excellent squad player to fit into many different positions.

2/ Lack of power in midfield. Abdou bossed our midfield and i still feel Morgan is too weak in phsical sitautions. A genuine ball winner with some pace would be great here.

Barnard - Very similar to Connelly and lacks pace

Lisbie - Has pace but is old (31 years) and would be a short term option

Hooper - Great outside bet, not on the radar and at an unfacied club. Decent pace and excellent finisher, a real dark horse i feel.

Jackson - The fans choice - Has the killer pace and finishing ability but comes with a hefty price tag and wage packet, plus other clubs in higher divisions are interested.

Watch Waigos goal V Exeter if you think he doesn't have pace.

Well i think you lot are mad if you think we have enough pace in our team. Waigo is not a regular starter, for whatever reason. We are looking at players to come into the first team and make a difference.

Currently the first 11 does not have enough pace. Evidently clear from the Millwall game, hypo, speed kills in football simple.

I agree with you. I'm just confused as to why you think Waigo isn't that quick.

Papa ...is very quick as is Antonio.....see them in training/sprints.

Unfortunately Holmes is regularly overtaken bt the groundsman pushing the lawn mower.

How quick is very quick ?

and how slow is James I wonder

My Managing Director..The boss..er in doors..Reckons I am far too quick:rolleyes:

My old Auntie reckons Papa is the next Usain Bolt but Holmes needs some new legs.... The groundsman has been asked politely to slow down when walking the lawn mower any place near the lads in sprints/training.

I think Holmes is in the last chance saloon and hopefully will stay fit...Antonio is work in progress.

If we sign Barnard he will keep Holmesy company in the sprints....But hopefully will help Lambert, Lallana and Connolly with extra goals in our push for the play offs and our up coming Wemberley trips.....Fingers crossed for all the above,:)

And a host of Coventry and Exeter fans, including some I know personally. Not sure how many times I have to say I'm not writing him off.

perhaps you need to sit back and enjoy the ride for a week or two rather than coming back on here every five minutes crying about not signing Ward and signing Seaborne instead. What's done is done. Pardew had his reasons and maybe they will be revealed at a fans forum some time. If Seaborne fails to make the grade then its a black mark against Pardew, but even if he does (fail) Ward still needs to shine (if he passes a medical elsewhere). If Jardi recovers quickly then it won't matter as Fonte and him will play.

The further back on the pitch we play him, the less likely he is to be flagged offside!

I would be happy if we brought in Barnard as a back up to Lambert, but I'm fully in the camp that would like to see a pacy striker here to compliment Lambert. That's not to say we can't have both, £200k for Barnard is Mifsud who I'm assuming is still training with us?
