saints_is_the_south Posted 5 January, 2010 Share Posted 5 January, 2010 Does anyone know how close the station is to the ground at MK please? Quite important with a 7pm kick-off for those coming up from London. Thanks Bletchley is the closest station which is according to the footballgroundguide.co.uk a 25 min walk. There are meant to be plenty of bus services & a taxi rank at the station too.

Quite important with a 7pm kick-off for those coming up from London. Thanks Think there are shuttle buses from Milton KEynes, but best bet is probably to use Bletchley Station which is a 20-25 minute walk, all depends if youre prepared to pay for cabs or not, makes a big difference. saints_is_the_south Posted 5 January, 2010 Share Posted 5 January, 2010 Bill it to Goosey  ! Think we'll definatly be looking at a taxi back after the game, 7pm start so should be finished around 8.55 & the train is 9.17. Don't fancy jogging back to the station tbh! benjii Posted 5 January, 2010 Share Posted 5 January, 2010 There's no such thing as "membership status'" this year so any individual who wants to purchase a seat should be able to out of those left over from season ticket holders, I would have thought. dhcwinslowsaints Posted 5 January, 2010 Share Posted 5 January, 2010 Nearest station is Bletchley but not all trains stop there, about 15-20 minutes walk. MK station itself is in the north of the city. If you know where they used to play then you will have an idea of the distance. Not one you would want to walk

stockportsaint Posted 5 January, 2010 Share Posted 5 January, 2010 Franchise FC, got absolutely no time for them. Although to be fair would be nice to know what our own ticket office has been doing and whether anyone had bothered to chase to get this sorted earlier. FA including MK in the World Cup is also a farce, basing al ot of England's bid appeal on the history and heritage of the game, and then including a ground in a town with no football history. I really hoped AFC Wimbledon would draw Dons away in the FA Cup, take 5000 and cause so much damage they'd leave the place looking like Plough Lane As AFC are in the playoffs of the Conference, theoretically it could happen in the League next season, although it would take a calamitous 2nd half of the season for MK to get relegated to meet them. Still, I reckon they'll be in the same division as each other within 5 years. Be interesting to know what most AFC fans would want to do at that point: 1) refuse to play MK (probably get chucked out of the league/docked points if they did that) - would they sacrifice the 6 points they might get docked to make the point. 2) take no away fans to MK, and ban MK fans from their ground (like Sunderland/Newcastle did a few seasons back). 3) your option - take the maximum allocation they can and then trash the away end - they could end up with a massive fine, but I reckon they'd get a fair few quid from "neutral" fans if they started an online charity fund to pay the fine. This is excellent news to help boost our support. Have got Greyhound down from London and they are excellent, really nice modern coaches, about double the leg room you usually get, very comfortable seats, plus a complimentary newspaper. Looking at that link it looks like they are doing it cheaper than the travelclub as well. Recommend it for anyone looking at alternative way to travel. £13 for MK and £11 for Millwall and Brentford. If it was a league game or the FA Cup I would definitely go, but as it's only the JPT I'm not bothering. Spent my money on a Millwall ticket instead (a longer journey for me). But I will go to Wembley if we get there! That would be a good day out with no pressure as it doesn't really matter if we lose.

Er, except it is semi final of a cup with a Wembley final. Maybe I missed it but we dont get to go to semi finals all the time and we have had a mighty depressing last 4 years, and have a real chance of winning. I think we will get nearer 3k. I am definitely going but might not bother for a mid week league match

I would hope we will have more for the league game there (in March) than for this.

I am definitely going but might not bother for a mid week league match attendance puts money into Franchise FC's pockets, which for some is simply offensive and a strong reason not to attend. For others the fact that its on SKY, is a second rate competition, kicks off at 7pm, is midweek, one of 50 odd games this season, and a good 2.5 hours away at depending on traffic, is bound to put them off. I'd of thought 2000 would be a decent turn out. If it was the League cup you could multiply that figure by 4 or 5.
