Lets B Avenue Posted 6 January, 2010 Posted 6 January, 2010 using my previous fate-tempting prowess as inspiration, i predict that we'll lose 3 wickets before close today, and lose by over 250 runs tomorrow. wtf???
Minty Posted 6 January, 2010 Posted 6 January, 2010 Yeah, erm... that was actually my attempt at tempting fate, so that in reality, we would go on to win (well, draw anyway)... Maybe my last 'prediction' was the exception and I *can* actually predict the future...?!

Now get onto paddy Power and undo the damage you've done. A drawn series would be a good result... hmm
AndyNorthernSaints Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 Every English top order batsman has got out playing a poor shot in this test match which is not a good omen :-(
saints_is_the_south Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 Need these 2 to be in by tea to stand any chance imo.
bungle Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 37 overs left, and they actually have to bowl them all today (unless the weather intervenes). Steyn the obvious dangerman.
saints_is_the_south Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 Made it to tea. Nice job by Colly & Bell. 34 overs left in the day.
the stain Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 Anyone know what's going on? I'm stuck at work and the Guardian OBO seems to have gone tits up.
pedg Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 Anyone know what's going on? I'm stuck at work and the Guardian OBO seems to have gone tits up. back working now. But to be on the safe side have cricinfo, the BBC and the Guardian OBO open in different tabs...
the stain Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 back working now. But to be on the safe side have cricinfo, the BBC and the Guardian OBO open in different tabs... I have now taken precisely this precaution. We've made it past drinks.
pedg Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 Not trying to tempt fate but it would be good if we could draw a match without having to have to last two batsmen in at the end! and 'allegedly' 13 odd overs to go but think its an hour or 15 overs which ever is longest at the end and with two spinners on they could get more.
bungle Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 Collingwood gone. He's done his job, really. 13 overs, 3 balls to go. Prior and Bell in now. Going to be nervy.

Sorry, sorry, sorry.. Collingwood is out now, all my fault.
Pancake Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 Collingwood gone. He's done his job, really. 13 overs, 3 balls to go. Prior and Bell in now. Going to be nervy. Have a good feeing about those 2 being in.
Pancake Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 Have a good feeing about those 2 being in. I'll shut up then.
pedg Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 Suffering from cricinfo important event lag stress syndrome. Mainly keeping a eye on the cricinfo page but know that when something like a wicket happens they can take a time to update it so if the cricinfo page not changed for a while have to nip over to the guardian obo to see if anything reported.
Pancake Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 The field now, from Aggers via Twitter: http://twitpic.com/x21rk
bungle Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 Not long now. Lots of tension. Inside edge from Bell there. Nervy. "Dot ball to the Eng-er-land" sing the Army.
krissyboy31 Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 Barmy Army cheering every block now and singing "Dot ball to the Eng-l-and!"
bungle Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 Broad out now, wastes a referral when it clearly hits his glove.
bungle Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 20 balls to go. If they bowl them all before :47 then they could get one more over in. Unlikely, though.
Smirking_Saint Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 Broad out now, wastes a referral when it clearly hits his glove. Worth a go, and wastes some time
Lets B Avenue Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 Worth a go, and wastes some time Tried to claim his hand was off the bat when it hit him.
bungle Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 Oh crud. Bell edges to slip. 17 balls to go. 1 wicket.
Smirking_Saint Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 Tried to claim his hand was off the bat when it hit him. He knew where it was, he was always going to lose that call
bungle Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 7 mins to go? They have to bowl the overs, so 17 balls no matter what.
Pancake Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 They have to bowl the overs, so 17 balls no matter what. Ah, sorry misheard TMS.
bungle Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 Who needs Twenty20?! Top quality cricket, so much tension.
Minty Posted 7 January, 2010 Posted 7 January, 2010 lol... bouncer avoided quite happily by Swann, 6 balls to go, Onions to face... eek...
