Thomas almost lost his driving licence a few weeks back having run up 12 points, he was allowed to keep it for family reasons, but he also said in the paper that his contract was up in January and he may be having to move up North - his Wife and Child live near Christchurch at the moment and I think they were planning to stay.

Thomas ws signed in August 2007 and I would not imagine it was for 3 and 1/2 years. Isn't there a 6-month period before the end of a contract when you can start to look for another club?

For reasons we are not party too, Coleman just doesn't seem to rate Ward. He's one of our top earners and I guess they want to move him on.

 

He's been pushed down the pecking order. We now have James Mcpake, Richard Wood, Leon Barnett, Martin Cranie & Ben Turner all competeing for two centre back positions.

 

Now for my view..... I like Elliot Ward, I do not think he has ever let us down, good solid defender, chips in with a fair amout of goals, especially off corners and takes penalties. He'll be a real asset for you, I wish him good luck.

He said "as far as we know". Saints may well be after right backs but hasn't reached the media or ITK fans yet. Personally I doubt a right back will join Saints until the summer at the earliest.

I'm pretty sure Thomas is being moved on and Trotman as already gone back to Preston. Perry and Jaidi can only play a certain amount of games (and if we are to make the Play-offs and progress in the JPT and FA Cup, we've still got sh!t loads to play). 4 proper centre backs (and I don't include Lancashire or Martin yet in that) is a necessity for us to go all the way.

I like Cranie, very versatile so far he’s played Right Back, Centre Back & Left Back. If he plays tomorrow it will be Left Back as we are a little short in that position. Had his best game at Centre Back IMHO. Not sure where Coleman’s going to fit him in once we sort out the left back problem, but he’s young plenty of time to establish himself.

The actual quote from Pardew on Solent was "I wanted to bring in two players to replace the two we've lost" (Mellis and Trotman) "so we need a midfielder, and then maybe an extra".

So that's Fonte, a midfielder and then "maybe an extra".

I'm very wary of Stock, sometimes serious ankle injuries take a long time to really heal. I certainly wouldn't pay a lot of money for him just now, loan at best is all he'd get from me...not that it matters. If he can be replaced at Donny by Gillett well...:confused:
