Elliot Ward - The Story!

A left-winger would be lovely please Pards, Lallana's great on the left but I can't help thinking that a good quality left-footed player would do us the absolute world of good and really give our team a great balance. It'd also give us a few more crosses for Lambert and Connolly to snap up.

Agreed, Lallana needs dropping down to the reserves/youth team for a while to mature and find his form.

Lallana is not a left winger and I agree we need one

Agree.

But, assuming we find one, how would you set up the midfield?

New LW ----- Morgan/Hammond ------ Lallana -------- Papa?

What about the need for a DM?

Lallana is at the moment pretty much the second name on any team sheet after Lambo, the problem comes in finding a position for him with the rest of the midfield having a balance. The Papa/Antonio double act on the right gives us the threat of raw pace which Lallana doesn't have, could we find a LW that has experience, pace and knows the offside law?

Balancing the side is not easy with him in it, but he (like MLT) has to be made to fit into a system. Would we need a LW with a diamond formation?

Who'd be a manager?

Anyway let's hope if it is Ward that Pards has pulled another nugget out of the hat

My thoughts exactly

Lallana in the Sherringham position, ie just behind the lead striker, then you need a wotton behind Spider and Hammond, leaves option of left or right winger depending on perceived opposition weakness.

Needs a Wotton though to protect our current CB's, as in that position it stops the runners getting a head of steam up,

So that would mean DC, PW, MA,LH all being interchangeable with both AL and RL and fighting for the wide slot

Means RL or AL could be rested etc and team still play the same shape.

I think you'll find all the top managers use FM to simulate the market before making a bid. It's standard practice as they don't want to be caught out by saddos on message boards and looking as though they haven't done thier homework.

Sadly FM has lead to the almost total demise of the traditional scouting network - what's the point when you have a ready made one for 19.99?

Even Chelsea's head scout admitted using it to scout for young talent. I must say, it's a good tool. Most of the players have their ability controlled by fans, so it's representative of actual opinion, rather than just random numbers assigned to players.

Yup, any club would be daft not to use it (but dafter still to rely on it!)
