The Kraken Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Ah but by the time the next round is played they will have no players left. They left out 4 of their first choice players today, any coincidence they are not cup tied now? And another one. Put your bravado aside. We lost to Colchester. Thay just lost to Preston 7-0. Preston are struggling massively in the Championship. Skatesmouth are a league above Preston. We're below them for a while. It's unfortunate, but we are. Next year, they'll be on the way down while we're on the way up. But it's not the time to gloat. Not yet.
bpsaint Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 As many others have said Arse or Liverpool away for me would be nice. They're both grounds that I really want to go to,and as we'd be expected to lose anything else would be a bonus.
Toadhall Saint Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Not bothered other than being drawn at home.
Iowsaintsfan Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Big team away Arsenal, Man u, Liverpool, not Chelski though, or failing that someone like poopey at home as i think we can do them now and it would be fun to watch them squirm with the mess of their club.
St Marco Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 I don't subscribe to the "Pompey would still beat us" argument. We played one of the better teams in the prem league this year already and narrowly lost. If we play like that then we will beat Pompey for sure. After watching them vs Arsenal that was one of the worst performances i seen this season. I don't fear them at all. As for Coventry your having a laugh arn't you? They have lost pretty much 50% of their games! Right now we are one of the form teams in the country. If we come up against any of the prem teams above 17th place we will most likely lose. But Pompey are ****. If they had that team in the CCC they would struggle. Today's result shows that. A team who is 17th in the CCC drew away with them. If that makes you fear them i find that slightly funny. I want Pompey at home as i know right now we have a good chance to beat them. They have the worst team they have had since they went up. They have a manager who seems to have zero ability to give inspiration to his players. And they will most likely have lost more players by the time the game is played. That have some truely awful players at their club, hence why they are last. We will not win the cup, we will get one of the big teams in the next few rounds and get thrashed. I would much rather have an occasion against a team i'm sure we could beat rather then playing a team i know would thrash us. You have got to laugh at the argument "i don't want to play Pompey as they will beat us, i want Spurs".......
tonibell Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Liverpool away - Would like to see Anfield before it's knocked down (l have a friend up that way) Portsmouth home or away
Saint Fan CaM Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Anyone calling for Pimpley must be daft - even with their rubbish team at the moment the chances are they would still have too much about them and we would get spanked and embarrised. Too soon. And why face a big name Prem team like Arsenal when there are lesser teams still in the competition that we could beat and go through to the next round? More prestige and more money for the club. I think we'll either draw Brighton or Burnley.
Matthew Le God Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 I think we'll either draw Brighton or Burnley. As it is a completely random draw it is pointless guessing really.
equalizer Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Arsenal away, or failing that Ipswich at home and a chance for revenge on Roy Keane.
Window Cleaner Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 (edited) someone that we can beat Brighton at home will do for me, Edited 3 January, 2010 by Window Cleaner
Red&White Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Arsenal or skates away please. That will do me
alehouseboys Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 I'd take another "easier" tie next round and hopefully progress, then by the time the 5th Round comes around we'll most likely had strengthened giving us a better shout against tougher opposition...then we can get slightly less humiliated away to the Arse!
Andy_Porter Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Don't want a League one side, Liverpool or Pompey. Anyone else would be fine.
Andy_Porter Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Can't understand why people would want Pompey. We wouldn't have much of a chance against them and I can't think of many things more depressing than a Monday morning at work after they've beaten us.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Brighton away so we can spank their asses and show them it was a one off - hopefully Unfortunate turn of phrase you have
Master Bates Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Drawn at home to the winners of Coventry v Pompey in which Coventry will win.
This Charming Man Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 We really do have some deluded fans on here. There is no way in a million years we would beat any Prem side and we would seriously struggle against 80% of the CCC. We have struggled against all the top sides in this league (bar MK Dons). Some people on here really do need a reality check.
saint lard Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Really don't want to play Pompey,They may have their problems on and off the field but i think they would beat us,i am taking great pleasure at their apparant demise and a loss against them would temper that greatly plus give them a something to come back at us with, however small that maybe in the grand scheme of things. Let's draw someone very beatable please.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 As it is a completely random draw it is pointless guessing really. I take it you've never gambled atall then? Anyways, not a pointless guess as such - just a feeling in me water.
Neil Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 I'd be happy to wait to play Pompey next season in the Championship and beat them twice, if they even make it to next season. Would take Notts County / Forest Green at St Mary's, then perhaps a pay day in R5?
aussiesaint20 Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 What time do we expect the Fourth round draw to start? And where if possible could I listen to it? Down here in Aus so would like to set an accurate alarm. Cheers!
Thedelldays Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 What time do we expect the Fourth round draw to start? And where if possible could I listen to it? Down here in Aus so would like to set an accurate alarm. Cheers! I think it is about 6pm (uk)...after the west ham arsenal game i may be wrong

Oh and I would want Plymouth in the next round! Edited 3 January, 2010 by Johnny Shearer
grammy Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Anyone but the skates at home. Dont wanna be giving them 45% of gate reciepts from what would surely be a sell out crowd.
diggers Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Stoke would do me nicely, love to see a few loyalties tested :smt047
SNSUN Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 I agree with the people wanting to go out to a big team in the next round. Get the FACup out the way, and do it with some dignity. Away to Chelsea/Man U/Spurs/Liverpool/Spurs/Man City would do.
Saint_Mabes Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Liverpool home or away - got uni mates there, good excuse for a reunion.
Colinjb Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 The winner of the Cov v Skate replay. Or a large Midland team away.
Saint_lambden Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Can you imagen the worst draw- Something like Brentford or Doncaster away or Accrington or Gillingham away
wild-saint Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 I want Pompey away. I just want to be able to stand there and sing to the tune of yellow submarine .. "we're all standing on a future block of flats". That would iritate the shyte out of the skate few.
Huffton Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Reckon its pretty academic now anywa, we will get Coventry. ;-)
RedAndWhite91 Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 I want Pompey away. I just want to be able to stand there and sing to the tune of yellow submarine .. "we're all standing on a future block of flats". That would iritate the shyte out of the skate few. haha nice
St.Thomas7 Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 I have a strong feeling we are going to get the Skates. Personally I don't wanna play them, however, when's the next round played? If this firesale happens it it would mean we'd probably be playing their reserves reserves! I just don't want to give them the pay day as we're the only team their fair-weather fans would turn up to see!

JustMike Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Arsenal away would be my choice. as would mine be. want to visit their new ground
david in sweden Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Liverpool home or away - got uni mates there, good excuse for a reunion. well .. it won't be Man.Utd as Leeds have just dumped them 1-0 at Old Trafford !!
Toomer Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Skates at home so we can lay the ghost of a certain song and 4-1 defeat at Notarf Krap with all the home fans singing, Pompey going down they got feck all in the back, for most of the match. Won't happen as they will get stuffed by Cov.
Dog Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Arsenal away Bristol City or Cardiff home Pompey home Any of those 3 will be a good day out.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 well .. it won't be Man.Utd as Leeds have just dumped them 1-0 at Old Trafford !! Yep and I have to say Leeds played really, really well. They didn't give ManUre any time on the ball, fought for everything. Great game of footie - Beckford and Hughes were immense for Leeds. We would not have given such a performance IMO - not yet...as AP says, we're not up there with Leeds just yet.
CitySaint Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Anything but a big premiership club at home, Saint Mary's just gets full of opposition fans. Away is the way forward, Liverpool or Man City please.
Micky Posted 3 January, 2010 Posted 3 January, 2010 Another loon that thinks we'll beat a Premier League team. I agree with the old faces line, but to think we'd get near giving them a good game is tremendously naive. Ummm loony enough to think that Leeds would have any chance at OT as well. Now lets think - who's the loon...???
