Saint in Paradise Posted 1 January, 2010 Share Posted 1 January, 2010 I have a bad feeling our season is about to fall apart. I know that sometimes you are a bit gloomy Alpine But do you really really believe that the present people in control would let that happen ???? alpine_saint Posted 1 January, 2010 Share Posted 1 January, 2010 I know that sometimes you are a bit gloomy Alpine But do you really really believe that the present people in control would let that happen ???? I dont really think so, but now they have to go out and locate someone and hope it works out; Trotman's loan overall I view as having worked out, so it would have been a safer bet simply to buy him. The risk is greater bringing someone new in than having bought Trotman, imo.

Yes, a really ridiculous notion that the recall or end of loan period on two or three of our first team/bench triggers a collapse in team form

Chez Posted 1 January, 2010 Share Posted 1 January, 2010 Yes, a really ridiculous notion that the recall or end of loan period on two or three of our first team/bench triggers a collapse in team form I thought Trottman and Melis were the only ones going back with antonio almost certainly staying? Neither were in Pardews preferred starting 11 in recent times. Our form overall has dipped in the last month or so, so perhaps these slight changes to the squad have come at a perfect time as the squad needs freshening up

Assuming that Preston would have accepted an offer for Trotman, I would loved him to have been retained permanently. Looks a player who at his age will only continue to improve as a CB. Even if AP can gain a good replacement, it could be a few precious weeks before the continuity of the back four is settled, depending on the fitness and durability of Perry during a busy period. instinct Posted 1 January, 2010 Share Posted 1 January, 2010 trotman was a quality defender, won everything in the air and would have been a good prospect for the future, hope there is still a chance we can snap him up

He started well but got worse and given the pretty decent record in the transfer market so far, I have faith in Pardew. Have you watched much of Trotman? Stepgar Posted 1 January, 2010 Share Posted 1 January, 2010 (edited) I suppose this is the problem when a loan player does well at a club. the home club sees a upturn in firm and developement And also the reason that players go out to gain experience for their home clubs to nurture and groom them for first team action. Better to gain exerience playing first team football rather than playing non competitive reserve team footy. SaintRichmond Posted 2 January, 2010 Share Posted 2 January, 2010 Sol C? No thanks The cost of Asbestos lined Y-Fronts for the rest of the players at bath time would be too prohibitive IMHO
SaintRobbie Posted 2 January, 2010 Share Posted 2 January, 2010 AP must have someone in mind then ...or Preston are posturing for a better price?
sussexsaint Posted 2 January, 2010 Share Posted 2 January, 2010 Agreed!! Sad to see him go. +1 me too was hoping we'd sign him has put in some solid performances this season for us , no doubting his commitment
Bensfcno1 Posted 2 January, 2010 Share Posted 2 January, 2010 Would you class Perry as a money grabber though? Not imo Where as big Sol is clearly only intrested in the cash If he was only interested in the money, why would he cancel a lucrative deal at Notts County, and chose to be unemplyed for 5 months? Surely he chose playing at a higher level in january over money here?
Huntingdon Posted 2 January, 2010 Share Posted 2 January, 2010 He didn't play for Preston today, in fact he wasn't even on the bench I think Preston would sell him

John B Posted 2 January, 2010 Share Posted 2 January, 2010 Almost as bad news as Trotman's loss of form over the second half of his loan. I have a bad feeling our season is about to fall apart. After today's performance you may have a point
