As requested by FF and Bexy on the 'Saga' thread - could this be a poll mods?

Would you prefer to see Pompey financially crippled, and struggling in a lower league than Saints, or for them to go completely out of business?

Posted
Throw them out the football league and let them spend years in the Wilderness like Aldershot.

Agreed. No matter how much hate and contempt I feel for them I'd hate to see them go out of business completely - who would we have to hate and at the same time laugh at?

Stick them in the Blue Square South at the highest, let them rot there for a bit. At least it would at last shut them up about being a bigger club than us... They seem to think being in a higher league than us means being a bigger club, we all know that's not true, so at least we'd be bigger than them in their terms, if that makes sense.

Hurrah for HMRC.

They've already been destroyed by their succession of appalling owners whom the Premier League has signally failed to disqualify or control in any way.

There is no way out for the club now, so the poll is irrelevant really, but I wouldn't want them to cease to exist.

Burn down Fratton Park with all 23 PFC fans still inside , cast the rubble into the Solent , sow the ground with salt and hang the charred corpse of that Westwood freak from the Bargates so that decent football fans can throw sharp objects at him in perpetuity .

....... perhaps I've been a tad extreme here .

Severely humbled and the mongers among their fans chastened (impossible*). Not out of existence.

*Just one point, no matter what happens to them, their mongers will blame us lot anyway and hate us even more!

+1 and a bit

I fear the Solent may reject the rubble, Portsmouth Harbour perhaps?

That they Get 10-points deduction this year. Next season they get an extra -17-points for financial regularities. Somehow we get up via the play-off's get to thrash them twice next year, the second game at nottarf in April & put the final nail in the coffin that guarantee's Relegation to Div-1 for them.

Or that they get relegated to the blue square southern division, now that would be funny. But I want them around to continue to laugh at.

Perhaps the simple question is

A -Do you want skates to pull through and be competitive in the football league (below saints)

B - Or would you prefer them to fall as Luton? (or any scenario that is worse)

B for me.

I'd prefer them to be humbled and then humiliated for years.

Why would we wish them a quick painless death? I love watching their misery, and wouldn't want to stop the fun too soon.

Be interesting to see an age attached to these posts....at 55 I'm indifferent to their plight. I do know, that they hate Saints, more than we hate them.

Agreed.. Believe I am 21 years old...But wife and girls remind me I am 60 on Feb 10th.

In my younger days watched football at The Dell but during Service years 65 to 75 watched Pompey, Plymouth and Gillingham at many games......Goverment service 75 to 2005 Many London Clubs...Just loved football whenever and wherever when I could not get to Saints games.

INDIFFERENT....Will leave Portsmouth FC to tax, Old Bill, PL/FA and all the creditors.....Que Sera etc etc......But Storrie, Arry Boy and Gaydermark and the Arab boyzz need sorting as well. AND the rogue AGENTS.

Much more to come.:)

I want to see them destroyed. I want to see their ground demolished, their fans desolate at the ultimate price they are paying for having lived beyond their means. I wish to see them suffer horribly and to see ther 'proud' history and dissproportionately loud fanbase count for the sum total of jack all.

They will of course carry on in some form, but they will always be the hated rivals and I would like nothing more then their rancid presence erased from the premiership, football league and beyond.

Incidentally, I am 25 and have a good job achieved through getting a honours degree in engineering.

Yes Kick 'em down to the Isthmian League or whatever and let them get a slow, horrible climb up to here then be kicked down again cos they're complete carp :) but at the moment they are screwed and this 09-10 season seems to be a very good one to be a Saints supporter IMO. COYR's! Happy New Year everyone! ;)

There's no difference between option C and option D.

What the feck is C supposed to mean - that there will be no football clubs in Portsmouth?

Suffer administration and relegation, and then we can hopefully get to play them again in the next couple of years and take our rightful revenge for that 4-1 at Fratton in 04/05.

I'm 34 and I started following Saints in 1988/89 season.

why should good proper clubs like Eastleigh and Salisbury etc have to put up with rubbish clubs. Anyway I expect admin and 1 or 2 relegations will be the worst they suffer.

I haven't found the Premier League sanctions but according to the Daily Mail it's -9 points for entering administration:

Not so sure Ginge? The vocal majority on here seen to Hate Pompey as much as even the most fanatically misguided Pompey fan. A complete loss of perspective allround.

Humbled. ;)

So over 87% at the moment still want a Portsmouh of some kind to exist and you think thats a vocal minority...I can see why you support the Skates.

Humbled & humiliated will do for me dont forget we were nearly dead & buried ourselfs woudnt wish not having your club on anyone even the Cod snogging gipo's.

I have found the hole saga funny and I do want to see them relegated and potless but I hope the dont go out of existance we need someone to hate.

We should count ourselves lucky that the future is bright in red & white they have enough to deal with just being fish fiddling caravan dwellers

Humbled and humiliated to a degree worse than we had to endure ;)

But I want them to survive. The South Coast rivalry is a wonderful thing and who would we have to take the mick out of otherwise ? Reading/Bournemouth and Aldershot just don't cut it as adversaries somehow.

Stop beating about the bush! What do you really think of them??

The majority don't want PFC to exist.

They want them gone and "new" club akin to AFC Wimbledon to replace them.

It would be naive to believe something wouldn't be born from the ashes, but PFC it won't be.

That means little though, VFTT. There were Saints fans who didn't want US to exist, in the summer, and wanted some tinpot AFC Southampton to rise from the ashes.

I would hate for them to cease to exist, we must avenge that defeat the other year otherwise that is all that we will hear from them. I want to play them again one day, the sooner the better. I actually want them to win on Saturday and us to get them down there for a rematch.

D for me

You do realise that when PFC goes pop - as it will - a new club will rise from the primordial slime quite quickly. And the same blue few will be baying for blood. I'd have thought you'd have gone for C 'out of existence'. I only mention it because I'm a bit uncomfortable to discover I voted the same way.
