I thought our fans were fickle, but having just watched the highlights of Bolton vs Hull I think we're not so bad after all! They were booing when they were 2-1 up, which could only have a negative effect on the players, and they conceded again, cue more booing. They were also shouting and singing abuse at Megson, who they've given a hard time to ever since he joined their club.

He was visibly upset by the abuse in the post-match interview, and you can't help but feel sorry for him as he seems an honest bloke doing his best on a tight budget. I know they don't play the best style of football but does anyone feel this negativity and abuse is in anyway justified? Watching Bolton's players backing deeper and deeper towards their own penalty area reminded me of our team last year and how we go on their backs, and I'm sure positivity in the stands breeds positivity in the players.

One breeds the other in any walk of life, as it's so much about confidence and feeling ok about trying to express yourself without getting sh*t if it doesn't come off.

Poxy fans of a no-mark club forcing out an honest manager. I don't particularly like Megson as a manager but he seems like a sound bloke and them fans booing when they are winning is pathetic.

And for the record, I doubt Wigley is going to be able to do much better.

considering he has a very small amount to spend and has to constantly try and cut the wage bill etc....what the hell do they expect..?

Spent over £30m I think, including £10m on one player, who is only a sub these days

Sacked. Very very harsh. Shoestring budget (although they spent 9m on Elmander....?)

the fans now want Mark Hughes....why would he want to go there? Only reason i can think of is geographical..

Time for them to get a reality check, relegation should do it.

The problem is, short of re-appointing Allardyce they will not truly accept anyone.

I think this sums it up nicely. They have been punching above their weight for many years now. In many ways they are a bit like us, in that they now have an entire generation of young fans who have only known the premiership years and do not remember what it was like in the days before Allardyce/The Reebok stadium, and they therefore expect this to be the norm.

I think they have outstayed their welcome in the prem and look forward to them returning to the level that their attendances deserve.
