Episode 6.

Feck.

But while it is damned fine TV and no doubt damn accurate and really shows the horror, can't help thinking many households will be having the same problem i am. this is Bloke TV.

The GF loves the interesting and human side and is being educated but the whole flying legs thing....

Never needed that with John Wayne.

Anyone got some water?

I think on its own its a fantastic series but i don't think it stacks up well against Band of Brothers. It seems to lack the fluency and storyline.

Agree

With Band of Brothers you felt you where with the company as they went from D Day to the end of the war but with Pacific the charactures were just to spread out. Fine series though never the less.

I concur with this also. Felt no real attachment to the characters, though it was an excellent series - graphically brilliant and harrowing again.

Yeah, Band of Brothers was a lot better, although The Pacific has its plusses as well. In BoB you got a much better sense of the company as a kind of family, and you were completely immersed in their lives and struggles on the front. The Pacific cuts away far too much from the actual lives of the soldiers on the frontline, it just muddled the story and meant long periods of inactivity, such as Episode 3 and 4, in which NOTHING HAPPENED WHATSOEVER. Episode 10 will be another non-started imo, slightly disappointed with the series but I guess I had high hopes after the masterpiece that was BoB.
