Crab Lungs Posted 19 April, 2010 Posted 19 April, 2010 Going to watch it soon, pretty good I guess then? Yeah..... well, wher epidsode five left off pretty much! I won't say anymore though :-) Oh... and Episode 7 looks :=o also (surprise!)
dubai_phil Posted 19 April, 2010 Posted 19 April, 2010 Episode 6. Feck. But while it is damned fine TV and no doubt damn accurate and really shows the horror, can't help thinking many households will be having the same problem i am. this is Bloke TV. The GF loves the interesting and human side and is being educated but the whole flying legs thing.... Never needed that with John Wayne. Anyone got some water?
sadoldgit Posted 19 April, 2010 Posted 19 April, 2010 When is the bloody thing on. I recorded it on Easter Monday but have missed every episode since!!! Grrrrrrr
dubai_phil Posted 19 April, 2010 Posted 19 April, 2010 When is the bloody thing on. I recorded it on Easter Monday but have missed every episode since!!! Grrrrrrr America Plus on Saturday Nights on Orbit Showtime Network Guess that doesn't help you much though
SuperMikey Posted 19 April, 2010 Posted 19 April, 2010 Monday, 10pm, Sky Movies Premiere (I think it's 10pm)
sadoldgit Posted 20 April, 2010 Posted 20 April, 2010 Look for it on the normal stations rather than the movie channel. D'oh.
SuperMikey Posted 22 April, 2010 Posted 22 April, 2010 Where are you guys watching this online? It's been a 'mare trying to find a working link, could somebody PM me one for episode 5 and 6? Cheers!
Crab Lungs Posted 27 April, 2010 Posted 27 April, 2010 It gets even more gross :-( Jeez, so so so so brutal
RedAndWhite91 Posted 27 April, 2010 Posted 27 April, 2010 I've been watching it in HD with the surround sound on, phenomenal, it's amazing television, 10/10 for me.
Nexstar Posted 27 April, 2010 Posted 27 April, 2010 It gets even more gross :-( Jeez, so so so so brutal Yeah, right, episode 7 was pretty brutal.
Yate Saint Posted 27 April, 2010 Posted 27 April, 2010 Does anyone know if the BBC will be getting this anytime soon like they did with Band of Brothers? Not got the Movie Channels.
swannymere Posted 19 May, 2010 Posted 19 May, 2010 I think on its own its a fantastic series but i don't think it stacks up well against Band of Brothers. It seems to lack the fluency and storyline.

Agree With Band of Brothers you felt you where with the company as they went from D Day to the end of the war but with Pacific the charactures were just to spread out. Fine series though never the less.

SuperMikey Posted 27 May, 2010 Posted 27 May, 2010 Yeah, Band of Brothers was a lot better, although The Pacific has its plusses as well. In BoB you got a much better sense of the company as a kind of family, and you were completely immersed in their lives and struggles on the front. The Pacific cuts away far too much from the actual lives of the soldiers on the frontline, it just muddled the story and meant long periods of inactivity, such as Episode 3 and 4, in which NOTHING HAPPENED WHATSOEVER. Episode 10 will be another non-started imo, slightly disappointed with the series but I guess I had high hopes after the masterpiece that was BoB.
mightysaints Posted 27 May, 2010 Posted 27 May, 2010 The end of Pacific was disapointing and it felt like they had run out of money. BoB was great at the end with the baseball scene.
