Plonko Posted 30 December, 2009 Posted 30 December, 2009 To be fair about the road, they are building a link directly to the A12. They just haven't finished it yet. I do think Boothroyd is a to$$er though.

Bit out of order on the ballboy but deserved some abuse for acting like a c.nt in front of awayfans timewasting. Yes the ballMEN were crap and so slow it was a joke
Neil Posted 30 December, 2009 Posted 30 December, 2009 Point 3 - Which Club is gonna charge any less than £5 to park at the ground? Isn't it the fact that it's modern (i.e. out of town) that makes more people drive? Ok the location isn't the best (thank goodness we moved to St Mary's rather than Stoneham), but you can use your imagination and park somewhere for free and walk/bus to the ground. Or get the train...

Ok so he's entitled to do it but I think it's a bit low. I'm sure the dodgy PA in the Saints end was deliberate too.

Unless it breaks any FA rules, they can make it as unpleasant for the opposition as possible, it's standard practise in the lower leagues. Most older grounds have truly shocking away facilities, small, no heating, no light, dodgy showers etc. Sorts the men from the boys, the ones with the right attitudes will use it as motivation.
ooohTerryHurlock Posted 30 December, 2009 Posted 30 December, 2009 We flew out of the official car park and were back in soton by 7.45.... but we did do Carlisle to southampton in sub four hours so i guess we know what we are about in getting away quick..... TBF the pitch size was altered by lambert and I think they are then duty bound to stick with it.... bottom line is though we were just not at the races in the first half. our form against the top six is really great when you scrutinise it and I think we would be better with wotton in the side for games like that... but hey ho thats football.

Hence the result in the Forum match. Just ask nickh what it's like returning to the away dressing room as SMS after being trounced, I bet it still hurts.
LA77 Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 I had the same problem as Ron manager. The sat nav went weird and I missed the turning ffs. That added another 8 miles onto the trip. A brown sign or 2 wouldn't have gone a miss, especially as the roads aren't ready yet. Their ground is a typical new breed out of town "stadium" which we expected to be honest. I've never understood the Woolston ferry song. Unless you're from woolston who gives a feck? I notice the same old mongs shout down anyone that has a rant on here. Say what you you want ffs, it's only a message board. So ****** to boothroyd, Billy Davies, hoofers and dirty cheating tactics.

Feckin' 'ell. You'd have to average 85mph to do that. With all the round abouts, junctions, traffic, city driving etc, you must drive about 120 on the motorway.
Dog Posted 2 January, 2010 Posted 2 January, 2010 Didcot Saint said: What a totally shambolic football club. I have just spent along with Harwell Saint, my wife and 1700 odd other Saints fans an afternoon of shocking proportions. 1 A Boothroyd. A terrible manager who is a disgrace to football. His teams are crude, cheat, timewaste, ugly and most of the time hoof it up the pitch. The future of english football for sure. Arsene Wenger beware. Even the ballboys wasted time and the pitch had been narrowed and was bobbly as anything to suit his bully boy tatics and prevent good football. 2 The "Stadium" has no atmosphere and is full of idiots who don't sing and turn up and watch that rubbish every week. 3 They have the temerity to charge £5-00 to park in the club car park and then make you sit there for over an hour after the game. In a modern "stadium" that has only been recently built, the traffic was horrendous. 4 Ah i here some of you say, Sour Grapes. Yes for the first 20mins, not good, but due to a completely inept performance from the ref and linesman we may have even won. I will never return to that dump again and will never pay good money to watch that **** served up by Boothroyds teams again. How the hell do you have the nerve to slag off anywhere, you live in Didcot FFS. Have you counted your toes and fingers recently? Over!

As a participant in said away dressing room side, I can confirm that the away dressing rooms at SMS are about on a par with the away dressing rooms at Bournemouth, and both are still a damn sight better than any parks changing rooms I've ever been in.
