As i have proved with many stupid questions i am an old fool when it comes to technical matters.

My son (14) hasw bought an IPod Touch but we cannot connect it to our Wireless Network.

We have an Orange Livebox with a WEP number but I am told by Apple that we need a WPA number to connect his ipod.

Does that make sense to anyone and if so can someone give this idiot a guide on what i need to do to get this thing working because his mother,my wife, is giving me real grief because i am lost

WEP and WPA are two security standards used on wireless networks and both come in a number variations. The iPod Touch is renowned for not working very well with the older WEP security.

I don't know anything about the Orange Livebox, but see if you can change the wireless security on that to the more modern and secure WPA. You'll also need to change the wireless settings on any other computers to WPA, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
