Legod Third Coming Posted 27 December, 2009 Share Posted 27 December, 2009 Good to see Chris Baird getting regular starts for Fulham though. Hodgson has sorted him out. Started 16 out of 19 league games I think. Did a good job against Crouch yesterday (according to my cousin) I always thought that Burley's failure to replace Baird was the major cause of our near-relegation. He was a class act in the Championship.

Neil Posted 27 December, 2009 Share Posted 27 December, 2009 I would say that Norwich would be favourites to win the play-offs, even if we didn't have the 10 point deduction they would be 7 clear of us, even Colchester would be above us. Anyway it's not always the best team that wins the play-offs, they are a lottery, one dodgy penalty or daft own goal can mean season over. I'd agree that at the moment Norwich would be favourites for the play-offs, but I don't think Norwich will be in the play-offs. Anyway, they've failed to beat us over 180 minutes so far at SMS this season (4-4), and I think we'll improve more between now and the end of the season than they will. Of course the best team may not win the play-offs, but I'd rather go into them with the best team, and I wouldn't agree that they are a lottery.
