Spoons pubs only allow kids if you are having a meal.

And don't they limit the adult to one drink? Had that in the Spoons on the way back from Winchester the other day.

When I have my kids we go to the Waterfront on Shamrock Quay - there's a little grass area for them to play on as well but no real 'playground'. However, there are usually a few other kids playing there.

Don't bother with Wetherspoon's. I once got ID'd having a breakfast and an orange juice, and I'm 18. They are a bit funny like that.

You're a bigger man than me to be admitting that on here. It wasn't because you tried to order the double breakfast was it?

Nothing wrong with a breakfast and an orange juice before heading off to work.

Pensioners and Red Lion in Bedford Place both allow kids, as does the Grapes if your down the other end of town

Didn't that close,or has someone saved it ?

It was the Large Breakfast. It was 9 in the bloody morning! I get ID'd for everything. When I just turned 18 I got ID'd for a 15 rated game, and even now (nearly 19) I get ID'd buying scratchcards in Hamble Co-Op.

Depends where you're parking. Encore next to the Mayflower is kid friendly - does lite bites ewc.. always a few Saints fans in there - (20 of us shortly) and a 10 mins walk to the ground

Thanks for all the responses , my mate is driving so we will park at bedford place and take the youngsters into one of the pubs around there , a quick pint for us while the kiddies are being occupied thanks to the wonders of the ds lite, thanks again.

I just wanted to bump this thread back up but add a beer garden to the list of requirements as it's supposed to be nice today and I fancy a sun drenched pre-match pint while my son plays on the DS! The Alfred's beer garden is a bit erm...concretey!

The Alex up off London Road allows kids i believe. And they've got table football in the bear garden and you can also get Jenga and such like from behind the bar.

Doesn't sound all that kid friendly to me..

Blimey bear's in the garden and you can take someone called Jenga from behind at the bar!

Is this a Carlsberg special?

Cheers! I might check that one out. Perhaps the bears are in cages and fight for the kids entertainment?!

Cheers! Might check out the Waterfront today and the Alex next game.

I take mine to the Waterfront (and I'll be there today with Mrs TS but not the kids as they aren't with us this weekend). There's a grass area to the left of the pub as you look at it which seems to be enough for my 5 and 7 year old to play on whilst we enjoy the delights of the outdoor BBQ and they attempt to climb the anchor :)

The Waterfront as some have mentioned but a bit further away there is The Junction at St Denys. It has a garden and a childrens room (known to locals as The Myra Hindley suite...) Leave when the other Saints fan do and you should be in time for the match.

Don't think the Alex lets kids in, although there is a few tables they can sit at out the front if the weathers ok.

2 seasons ago they wouldn't let my 16 year old daughter in the bar with us in The Alex, so they've either changed owners or attitude towards 'kids'.

If the weather is nice The Junction is a good shout if you were travelling by train.
