Tom Posted 31 December, 2009 Share Posted 31 December, 2009 I trust you're joking with that team? It would wipe the floor with our present lot. One or two of the players individually would qualify in the worse 300 but worse 11? You're having a laugh!! Oh right, sorry.
saintjinksie Posted 31 December, 2009 Share Posted 31 December, 2009 GK: Blaney (That Northen Ireland U21 doggy keeper) RB: Jake Thomson CB: Lancashire CB: Makin LB: Oscar Gobern RM: Mellis CM: Jermaine Wright CM: Wotton LM:`Hamaill (That Liverpool loanee) ST: White CF: Jordan Robertson Must be the worst out the worst. Joneth Posted 31 December, 2009 Share Posted 31 December, 2009 Difficult to pick a keeper as there's nobody who looked totally rubbish, people have mentioned Blayney but have you forgotten the stunning point blank save from a shearer header against newcastle? Defense is easier - Hajto Jakobsson Davenport Bernard Midfield of - McCann Sarmiento Folly Nillson Strikers - Anyone remember Eric Hassli? And how about Dani Rodrigues? I was singing Jakobsson's praises when he scored at Boro the year we got relegated!
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 31 December, 2009 Share Posted 31 December, 2009 Wasn't Blayney the keeper who had a fantastic game against Newcastle? (last game of the season a few odd years ago now.) I would say Paul Smith rather than Blayney
madsent Posted 31 December, 2009 Share Posted 31 December, 2009 Whoever includes Paul Smith in a 'worst ever' team is mental. He had several outstanding performances for us in the prem when he was called in to replace an injured Niemi. Burley didn't rate him and his confidence dropped though he went on to do well with Forest. Smith had 2 decent games in the Premier League and the rest were routine or poor including the 2-2 with Everton when Marcus Bent beat him with a near-post shot. I believe, on average, we conceded over 2 goals a game with him in goal. Lets not forget that he lost his place to a teenager (Bialkowski) and then to a retired lower-league veteran (Kevin Miller). He can't get a league game for Nottingham Forest now.

He had good games against Newcastle and Spurs and an outstanding game against Arsenal. It's already been discussed that he lost his confidence under Burley and he has done very well at Forest. Just because he is not first choice two years later doesn't make him a bad keeper now does it? *** Just saw I broke my own rules and included Kanchelskis in my team! Doh! SamKimish Posted 1 January, 2010 Share Posted 1 January, 2010 Melis is a decent player and its harsh to write off Thomson and Gobern after so few performances. As for White before his injury Chelsea and Arsenal were looking at him and he has played 3 times for the club so its a bit early do declare him rubbish. Completely agree with this. It p*sses me off when people slag off Mellis. He is a good player and was linking up well with Lallana before he went off with England U-21s (where he scored 3 goals against 3 different teams). He has struggled to get back into the side but he definitely doesn't deserve a place in the worst team of the decade!
