GK Stensgard

RB Nielsen

CB Lancashire

CB Davenport

LB Van Damme

RM Kanchelskis

CM Murray

CM Draper

LM Chala

ST Pekhart

ST Robertson

Draper?? As I recall - he was a decent signing and weighed in with some useful goals. Bargain at £1 million at the time as well.

I don't see how any of the players that played for us in the Premiership could possibly be in a worst Saints team of the decade, bar perhaps Alan Blayney. They were all good enough to play in the Premiership! Most of the players should be from the past two years.

And Wotton absolutely has to be in there.

Yeah, he really was rubbish !

Ps. Who the feck is he ? I've never heard of him !!

Lucien Mettomo - Cameroon international who we signed briefly and don't think ever played. Was briefly at City.

Think its a bit harsh putting him a "worst saints" team as he never actually played.

100% agreed. He was absolutely shocking. Bought purely because he did well for Burley 5 years previously.

I thought he looked good, head and shoulders above a lot of the team. Just bought 5 years too late, and suffering from injury. He also played a big part in raising the team in the play off against Derby when he came on with Belmadi and Rasiak, and played a big part in keeping us up in 07/08.

fuller was decent for us in his last season

paterson is still young and promising

pulis like forecast hasn't played a game

Euell wasn't played by the dutch idiot because ' he might not be on the same level as the kids' but has shown many times he is a decent player, ok maybe not while at saints but still.

some odd choices on here.

Good shout.

Close the thread, Ponty has nailed it! :smt116

Agreed! Although to really add the final ingredients to Ponty's picture you need to add a picture of Lowe as Chairman and Wotte as manager - for me Wotte was easily worse than JP. That said, it is a time of good cheer and all that so perhaps lets not remind ourselves of either of them!

you must have been watching a different player then, from what i remember he was alwasys injured, only played a handful of games, none of which he he shone in and only scored one or two. Shame as i rated him before he joined us but hardly a bargain at £1m. His biggest success in Southampton was nailing a really fit girl who worked behind the bar in the Lizard Lounge at the time he was here.

I agree, it's ridiculous to put Pulis in

He's never played a first team game, so he's hardly contributed to our downfall has he?

I bet there's a number of terrible players that have been on the books who never played.

To many people jump on the bandwagon. I wouldn't mind betting that 95% of posters who recommend Pulis have never seen him play, and wouldn't even know who he was if they stood next to him in Tesco

Patrick Colleter must be one of the worst I have seen. Never forget when he crocked Gustavo Poyet, think it was over the festive period, ouch.

Also Tahar El-Khalej - what a pile of crap he was. Amazing that he won something like 100 caps for Morocco.

Patrick Colleter may not have been great but he was much better than Olivier Bernard who was an absolute liability in a defence that had no leadership. My 11 would be

Blayney

Thomson Davenport Lancashire Bernard

Kanchelskis Bleidelis Folly Ripley

Rosler Pericard

I've tried to be fair by picking players who were poor for Saints regardless of the division we were in. I wouldn't expect Thomson to be as good as Dodd or Lancashire to be as good as Richards. Unfortunately, Thomson has looked poor for us at RB and RW and Lancashire is a shadow of the player we expected to see before his major hamstring problems a couple of years back.

I take it you are not impressed by the news that we are supposed to be in the running to sign Pericard from Carlisle?

Apologies, I've forgotten his name - Arias? The torpedo or something....? He was not too hot if I can remember. Peckhart, Kanchelskis and Almeida certainly spring to mind. It is difficult to not pick Bernard or Davenport (in fact, any of that back 4), despite us playing in the prem then. O'Halloran was so brief he can't be included, surely...?

Recently, Olly "red card" Lancashire was proper calamitous, despite having a great rep. I also thought Paul Smith was pretty decent all in all - however he was in and around the team when we had Niemi, so sadly no contest for the lad.

Incidentally, what was the name of that Czech Republic midfielder we had a couple of seasons ago, came as A Trialist I think, looked ok in fits and starts - curly blonde hair (no, not Bary Venison), and scored a couple of crackers. Been bugging me for weeks! Cheers!

I think we can do a lot better than Pericard although he'd be a physical presence up front for the times when Lambert is unavailable. Personally, I think we've had more than enough players with driving convictions and bans in the last few years.

Must be the worst out the worst. Well, I don't it can get even worse than this team. Not sure what can this team achieve in L2 or Blue Sqaure Premiership.

Was getting worried that Adam Hammill had been left out - first name on this team sheet for me

I trust you're joking with that team? It would wipe the floor with our present lot. One or two of the players individually would qualify in the worse 300 but worse 11? You're having a laugh!!

I think we should make a rule that we only use players who have played at least three first team games. The likes of Forecast, Pulis, etc. therefore cannot be included.

Blayney

Higgenbotham (when played out of psoitioned at lb/rb) Davenport Jakobbsen LB: Molyneux

Kanchelskis Bleidelis Folly Ripley

Bradley Wright-Phillips + who is this pericard person?

Including members of our current youth set up is very harsh. Give Jamie a chance.
