Prince William sleeps rough at xmas

I suppose he thinks he's doing good, but if he slept rough without the prospect of being saved at any point, he might truly find out how tough life can be for those where circumstance, and insufficient life skills can bring a person low. I know that's impossible for him because he lives within a family unit that is unique in this country, in that they can never be allowed to fail.

I'm sure he means well, but he's got a lot to learn.

What a wnker, quite frankly. Rather than trying to pull off poor publicity stunts him and his blood sucking family should think about using some of their ill gotten gains to actually make a difference to homeless people (or whichever unfortunate group they're going to use to make themselves seem less of a bunch of over privileged leeches).

Maybe this PR stunt is linked a little with the fact that there is about to be more transparency of their costs?

Those horrible b*stards spent £41.5 million this year (£1.5 million more than last year). Maybe some of that could have paid for a charity to do some long term work with the homeless? It's not even as if all of that has been funded by the tax payer this year either......they were given £35 million and the rest of the spending has come from her "savings". Well how about they stop f*cking spending quite so much? Here's a good example, why not tell Andrew that he cannot keep plying everywhere by helicopter and that he will have to sit in a car and be driven an hour or so to wherever he wants to go? (see this link http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/this-britain/andrew-wasted-thousands-using-helicopters-like-taxis-say-officials-487934.html)

I am not exaggerating when I say that if they were looking for volunteers to shoot each and every one of these bstards in the brains then I would be happy to come forward, as long as I could be helicoptered in and out.

I would be far more impressed if the royal family opened up a few of the hundreds of empty, unused rooms at Buck house to give the homeless people of london somewhere to sleep during these cold winter nights.

That would genuinely make a difference to the homeless rather than just serve as a crap PR stunt for William.

darn, you could always let them in for a spot of dinner

As it happens, I enquired about volunteering for a soup kitchen over xmas but they already had all the volunteers they needed.

Homelessness isn't actually a problem in my particular area of Sheffield, as far as I'm aware, but if any homeless people come knocking over xmas I will gladly share some of the modest goodies I have been fortunate enough to buy in (as long as they don't stink the place out!)

What a ridiculously negative reaction from you lot!

Give the guy a break. I don't endorse the royal family in any way so I have no subjectivity, but he's made a good effort here. As large an effort to see what it must be like for homeless people to sleep rough as he possibly could do, given who he is.

Furthermore, I've never even experienced sleeping rough to the degree he has, and I'm assuming most of you are in the same bag, so it's a bit rich to hear you all criticising his efforts from the warmth of your own homes!

He done it for charity didn't he? And he nearly got run over by a road sweeper. I agree with sotonjoe, give him a break!!

I don't hear of any of you lot sleeping rough for a night for charity in mid-december, just cos he is a royal doesn't necessarily mean it is some publicity stunt, does he need any more positive publicity? He seems to be one of the most popular blokes in the country!

There are loads of homeless people in Winchester, when I got back from Hartlepool at 3am and was stood waiting for a lift one came up to me and asked if I was alright, and showed me where to go if I needed shelter. I felt well sorry for him, but could do nothing. Fair play to William for seeing what they go through and even more so for doing it for a charity.

And about the secluded spot bit, that's fair enough, you don't want loads of random Japanese tourists coming up to him every five minutes do you?

Fair play to him.

Hypocrite, you have a pop at Prince Andrew then go on to say you too want to be transported around by Helicopter,

If I have jets and Helicopters at my disposal I'm going to use them and if I am heir to the throne I'll store the names of those who dared to criticise and once King, have their heads chopped off, along with Harry Redknapps

Rent a flat above a shop,

cut your hair and get a job.

Smoke some fags and play some pool,

pretend you never went to school.

But still you'll never get it right,

cos when you're laid in bed at night,

watching roaches climb the wall,

if you call your Dad he could stop it all.

You'll never live like common people,

you'll never do what common people do,

you'll never fail like common people,

you'll never watch your life slide out of view,

and dance and drink and screw,

because there's nothing else to do.

Mate, you spend a large amount of time baiting liberals on here ("how long until all the lefties are here blaming maggie and saying we should all give our christmas presents to terrorists..." or whatever) when you're not baiting people with different views to yours on the main board. Folk are going to have a go back, I'm afraid.

no..just sick and tired of (some) people constantly having a pop at me...for no reason what so ever..sure tear apart what I write but constantly having a pop at me is tiresom at best

Maybe if your posts weren't so provocative and you didn't bite back so hard then you might find people would stop doing it.

provocative..?

maybe, but does that mean I should automatically get digs from a certain few

one person (im guessing) wishes me dead in 2010..

for what..? a few words on a message board..?

just sick of it...if I get banned then I get banned...

Funny that, I felt bad wearing all designer brand clothes whilst he had nothing.

Nice for you to make a studied and educated response to my post anyway, as opposed to posting something stupid which achieved nothing. Oh...

Naked tramps...

In all seriousness, give the guy a break. Honestly, he's a member of the royal family and not that far away from being King. D'you reckon they'd let him sleep rough without anyone to keep an eye out?

Some of you are letting your own prejudices get in the way of the real story, which is that he gave up a night to spend it sleeping rough on the streets to highlight the problems that the homeless are facing. All you liberals can do is then bash the poor guy for it. Absolutely ridiculous.

Merry f*cking christmas.
