Arizona Posted 23 December, 2009 Posted 23 December, 2009 This is shaping up to be a brilliant championship. Lewis and Jenson at Macca, Alonso and Massa at Ferrari, Schumi at Merc and the Red Bulls will be there or there abouts.

Arizona Posted 23 December, 2009 Posted 23 December, 2009 Here's a brain teaser. What record is held by the 1994 Portuguese Grand Prix?
Arizona Posted 23 December, 2009 Posted 23 December, 2009 Nope it's slightly more impressive than that. It is sort of to do with DC though.
Ponty Posted 23 December, 2009 Posted 23 December, 2009 OK, I've looked it up now. That's uncanny. We've got shedloads of them in next year.
Ponty Posted 23 December, 2009 Posted 23 December, 2009 Though I'm not sure what I found has to do with DC.
Ponty Posted 23 December, 2009 Posted 23 December, 2009 Namely, it was the last race to not feature a former WDC.
Ponty Posted 23 December, 2009 Posted 23 December, 2009 I was right though, it was DC's first podium too.
Arizona Posted 23 December, 2009 Posted 23 December, 2009 Though I'm not sure what I found has to do with DC. Namely, it was the last race to not feature a former WDC. Ahhhhh... WDC - DC... Correct The "DC" clue was actually David Coulthard. He was replaced by Mansell for the final three races, who of course won the '92 WDC. Then Damon (unofficially) won the '94 championship and we've had at least one WDC on the grid ever since. Next season we will have 4 WDC on the grid for the first time since the '99 Japanese Grand Prix (Hill, Hakkinen, Schumi, Villeneurve) If Jaques comes back with USF1, it'll be 5 WDCs. No idea if that's ever happened before. IF Kimi comes back next season, that would be 6, if Schumi stays at Merc. If Massa or one of the Red Bulls wins the WDC, it'll be 7. I was right though, it was DC's first podium too. Yeah, he would have won too, but let Damon through for the Championship points.
Arizona Posted 24 December, 2009 Posted 24 December, 2009 Here's one, relevant to next season. Which record is held by the 1973 Canadian GP?
Ponty Posted 24 December, 2009 Posted 24 December, 2009 I know an answer but I must be missing something about your "clue"....
Arizona Posted 24 December, 2009 Posted 24 December, 2009 Not what I was thinking, but you might be right on that.
Ponty Posted 24 December, 2009 Posted 24 December, 2009 I was only reading about it the other day. The driver of the safety car messed up badly and it totally skewed the results. What was your answer?
Arizona Posted 24 December, 2009 Posted 24 December, 2009 Last race in which two British WDCs competed (Sir Jackie Stewart and Graham Hill)
Ponty Posted 24 December, 2009 Posted 24 December, 2009 Discluding the future British WDC of James Hunt.
Arizona Posted 24 December, 2009 Posted 24 December, 2009 Discluding the future British WDC of James Hunt. Yes. Otherwise you could have the 1995 Spannish GP, in which Damon Hill and Nigel competed. Or the 2007 Aussie GP which featured Button and Hamilton.
oxfordshire_saint Posted 24 December, 2009 Posted 24 December, 2009 This is shaping up to be an awesome season. I'm planning to do my first GP in 2010, having driven past it last week, I'm in love with Spa, so it'll probably be there!
