No doubt the £10 deal for one adult one child would have helped. Am going to walk over and grab a ticket later, can't wait - should be a cracking atmosphere and will set me up nicely for an pleasant Boxing Day drinking session!!

If it looks like it will be dry & Sunny, and with it being a 3pm kick-off I bet there will be a good walk up to fill the gaps. Especially as by then everyone will have been stuffed full of food and looking for an excuse to go out and get some fresh air ahead of filling their faces some more.

The thing is, the ticket office sometime lie.

I remember Ajax earlier in the season the bloke said we'd sold 26,000.......

They told me the Save Our Saints match was nearly sold out

Deos the adult child ticket have an age limit :)

i would've thought it would only be up to 12 years old (because any older than that and it would become a 'junior' )

just a guess, mind. :)

Open the Block 1-3 for Boxing Day?

Come on you reds!

Blocks 2 & 3 already are Yorkie - at least according to the online sales thingy. Just trying to buy two tickets myself, however either Block 1 is sold out or they've not opened it up as yet. Perhaps they're planning to putt all the walk-ups in there?

Bugger it, i'm away for this one. Do your stuff Itchen boys (and that woman behind me with the really shrill voice).

It is strange but the OLD Itchen North will never return until season tickets are available. The last time I went there for a game after it being closed it was full of wannabe Itchen boys...and the atmosphere was pretty poor tbh.

There are certain things taht need to be rectified and one of them is to open the Itchen North next season for season tickets. In this day and age and league the potential for fisty cuffs in pretty minor. At Leeds on Saturday I was stood next to a section of home fans - and completely ignored them.

I believe that the smallest of police presence could control any crowd - and to be honest I think most of the fans would be self controlling. Most were on first name terms with the police and stewards anyway; so why all the extra hype over additional cost? I'm sure it was still the ploy of "he who must not be named and shamed on these pages" to get revenge on the lunatic fringe...

Please Nicola we are not the lunatic fringe just more passionate about our clubthan an ex-Chairman who nearly killed our club. Get Blocks 1-3 open - providing the away fans stay put - it is what generates a real atmosphere.

A lot of people are buying the adult and child ticket for £10 and not using the child ticket, thus saving £9 on an adult only ticket.

Therefore the ground will be a lot less full than sales suggest.

could not agree more. I'm still to be convinced how much money is saved by having fans seperated by sections as there has still been a Police presence at games and there appears to be just as many stewards working on a match day as there was before.

Anyone able to confirm if `redundancies' were made in stewarding when the sections were closed?

Ouch, should've seen that coming.

so 30k published attendance will look like 25k in the ground

Is that deal only for a specific section of the ground though - i.e. Chapel? If so, then it will perhaps not be so much of an issue. Having said that it would appear that (a) someone at the club made a gaff on pricing policy and (b) there could be some kids (future supporters) who will not be able to get a cheap seat if there's a "sell-out", which would be a shame.

Actually, how do you know that this applies to "a lot of people"? It would be interesting to know factually how many have done this.

Posted
Is the attendance done by tickets sold or people through the turnstile?

Tickets sold, so even if season ticket holders don't turn up they are included in attendance.

At last Season s match v Sheff Utd. due to snow official attendance 13,000 but I would be surprised if many more than 10,000 in ground that night

Any latest update??

At least this time we may see 30,000 fans who want to be there rather than just turn up for a big name club (Manure) no disrespect to Exeter

Nowadays almost any West Country side we play counts as a " local derby ", I suppose:confused:

would be nice to think perhaps they could give their child ticket away

And have a lot of kids sat next to people that aren't accompanying them?

Don't know how the club might react if some kid or other got lost because he's on a free ticket with a stranger.

Would be better if they just took a kid. Surely most people know children, even if they aren't their own. Nephews, nieces etc. What a nice little treat to take a kid to football at Christmas.

true but that's not what was said in the original post.

A lot of blokes wouldn't want to be bothered with a child on Boxing Day. Stops them beering it up at the pub and all that.

I don't want to have a go, but the Chapel £10 deal really wasn't thought through. All they had to do was make certain parts of the ground £10 , with one free child ticket if you wanted it.

I was told that the ticket office can't even take back the free child tickets to re sell.

But the idea of that sort of lost leader is that you create new demand.

If everybody just pays £10 and doesn't take a child with them it doesn't create any new fans. It would serve the smart arses right if the gate-men won't let people with that type of ticket in unless they have the requisite child with them.

just depends on how many people try and twist it and buy the adult and child tickets

Did not someone say that there were " a lot" of cases like that?

It might also be designed to sell a lot of spanking new shirts and other gear to be proudly worn on Boxing Day.

You lose a few bob on a ticket but make packet on replica kit.

Sales still going well

Just under 27k sold so far. Will be over 27k by close of business today

It is odd how staff in the ticket office can come up with different figures, I went to get one for my Son this lunchtime and asked if the seat next to mine was free as it usually is. His reply was that I'd be lucky as they've sold well over 28,000.

Do some ticket staff include Away Ticket sales and other don't?

Got ticket next to me anyway so happy that I didn't have to leave ST behind again to pick up on a later day for a change.

Not sure, never ask the ticket office staff only Mr Luker, since he's the manager of the TO I trust him to know more than the lovely ladies at the windows!

They've always included the away sales in the crowd figures.

Except this lady wasn't lovely and had a very deep voice. :D I agree though that Mr Luker knows best.

As I've always understood, and why I can't understand why Ticket Staff seemed to have added an additional 1500 tickets sold today.
