Alf Tupper Posted 16 September, 2008 Posted 16 September, 2008 I read today that Pink Floyd keyboard player Rick Wright has died from cancer. Very sorry to hear that. In the late 60s and early 70's Floyd were one of my favourite bands and I was lucky enough to see them at Southampton Guildhall in about 1972. Rest in peace Mr Wright, and thanks for the music.
saint lard Posted 16 September, 2008 Posted 16 September, 2008 Agreed, great shame,i posted very much the same yesterday on the music section.

Saint in Paradise Posted 16 September, 2008 Posted 16 September, 2008 Saw them at the Holywood Bowl in Sept 1972 where they played Dark side of the Moon. Fantastic atmosphere, light show and of course the music. When the LP was released in the UK in early 73 my mates were even more envious RIP Mr Wright

saint1977 Posted 16 September, 2008 Posted 16 September, 2008 Brilliant group and superb musician. A complete one-off band and those who got tickets for Live 8 that are fellow Floyd fans were very, very lucky indeed. RIP Rick for your Great Gig in the Sky.
Junction 9 Posted 16 September, 2008 Posted 16 September, 2008 I hadn't heard this news. How very sad. They are possibly the biggest musical influence on me still.
The Tango Man Posted 16 September, 2008 Posted 16 September, 2008 A real legend, thanks Rick for everything, enjoying jamming with Syd.. Saw him last time at the Albert Hall , playing with Dave Gilmore, Nash and Young, plus David Bowie..a night to remember ...
