NickG Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 Initial panic about losing him for a while, he is now fit enough to return and is on bench - Bart has done well
Saint_clark Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 Glad he didn't come straight back in as that would probably ruin Barts chances of ever having a career with us. He's a very good keeper anyway, just had a few bad performances over the last two years due to the shocking defence in front of him.
OldNick Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 I have stood up for KD in the past, but i believew he has to wait for his chance again
aintforever Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 I prefer Bart, better on crosses and better distribution.
Deanovski Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 have a bad feeling bart will choke today and every one will want KD back,i hope im wrong though
Glasgow_Saint Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 have a bad feeling bart will choke today and every one will want KD back,i hope im wrong though Negative
Red Alert Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 Kelv is a old enough head to know that he will have to wait his chance to get back in. I am sure he is happy enough with that and he will try that bit harder when he does get his chance back in the side.
Leicestersaint Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 Stick with Bart - I think he is a better keeper and more of a winner. I hope I am right today!
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 Initial panic about losing him for a while, he is now fit enough to return and is on bench - Bart has done well Bart is the better keeper IMO.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 Bart is the better keeper IMO. Have you ever seen either play live?
david in sweden Posted 20 December, 2009 Posted 20 December, 2009 Kelv is a old enough head to know that he will have to wait his chance to get back in. I am sure he is happy enough with that and he will try that bit harder when he does get his chance back in the side. AGREED ! Bart has had a good run, yesterday's lottery was our first defeat with him in goal for 6 games. Prior to that he'd let in only 5 goals in 5 games - just about as good as any of KD's record this season. It's in everyone's interest for Bart to get as much experience as possible. Unless there are some dramatically bad results in the future he should stay. Good to know we have TWO good keepers to choose from.
ericofarabia Posted 20 December, 2009 Posted 20 December, 2009 I prefer Bart, better on crosses and better distribution. Not in the last minute when we really needed a delivery into the box he tamely placed a free kick into touch. Lost us possession and momentum Thought for a minute he was going to get onto the corner ala Niemi right at the end ... that would really would have been a classic finish to a game and sent us wild. He made a superb save early on in the 2nd half.
Katalinic Posted 20 December, 2009 Posted 20 December, 2009 Bart deserves his place at the moment - there is no reason to drop him and this also sends out a positive message to the other fringe players - if you get in, take your chance and you may stay there.
Huffton Posted 20 December, 2009 Posted 20 December, 2009 Both keepers have good points, both have faults. THe nice thing from our (and Pard's) point of view is we don't have a cast iron first choice, competeition for places can only be a good thing.
St Landrew Posted 20 December, 2009 Posted 20 December, 2009 Bart has done very well, as I suspect we thought he might. And 3 penalty saves, in a shoot-out against Norwich, are worth a little bit of faith. I'm actually astonished to see KD back in contention so quickly. I thought his injury meant a mandatory 6-8 weeks off.

Bart is the way forward though.Reinstating KD immediately would be retrograde step.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 20 December, 2009 Posted 20 December, 2009 Course KD shouldn't just walk back into the first eleven. It's great news he is fit again but Bart has done well and deserves to keep his spot for a while.
saintkiptanui Posted 20 December, 2009 Posted 20 December, 2009 Bart Bart Bart. Kelvin is donkeysh*t.
Rasiak-9- Posted 20 December, 2009 Posted 20 December, 2009 I'd keep Bart in goal for quite a bit, people easily forget about how good he was at the end of the 06/07 season when we were in the hunt for the play-offs and that he only really lost his confidence and place in the team thanks to that game against Palace when we lost 4-1 and he unfortunately took the blame for conceding goals when he had i believe to this day, the worst Saints defence infront of him i've ever seen.
Asaint4ever Posted 20 December, 2009 Posted 20 December, 2009 Bart made a fantastic save in 2nd half againts leeds. ball was going top corner and bart tipped over. amazing save!
the saint in winchester Posted 20 December, 2009 Posted 20 December, 2009 I'm sure KD would be pleased that Bart has done well and wouldn't want to take his place at this stage.
Dalek2003 Posted 21 December, 2009 Posted 21 December, 2009 Why rush Kelvin back ? Give him time to build up his strength after injury.
Foxstone Posted 21 December, 2009 Posted 21 December, 2009 I'm sure KD would be pleased that Bart has done well and wouldn't want to take his place at this stage. I would'nt bet on that! Nevertheless Bart has come in and performed well enough to confirm AP's trust and keep his place!
Frank's cousin Posted 21 December, 2009 Posted 21 December, 2009 I prefer Bart, better on crosses and better distribution. Nah that was Jesus... on CRosses and on distribution if you think of how he did with 5 loaves and 2 fish,... I'll get my coat
Danbert Posted 22 December, 2009 Posted 22 December, 2009 Nah that was Jesus... on CRosses and on distribution if you think of how he did with 5 loaves and 2 fish,... I'll get my coat Don't bother it wasn't funny
Smirking_Saint Posted 22 December, 2009 Posted 22 December, 2009 Bart has impressed me again. I always kept the faith that he was a very good prospect, however i was worried about his confidence. He seems to be doing well at the moment. I think we have two very good keepers for this division, Kelv is club captain and big enough/ugly enough to understand the good of the team. Keep him in.
Bearsy Posted 22 December, 2009 Posted 22 December, 2009 omg ur right kelvin is well fit!!!! bit cross-eyed though????? Bearsy xx
St_Tel49 Posted 22 December, 2009 Posted 22 December, 2009 Bart made a fantastic save in 2nd half againts leeds. ball was going top corner and bart tipped over. amazing save! Alan Blayney made the best save ever aginst Alan Shearer but I don't think we would argue to get him back. I've only seen Bart once this time round and he did OK but did not convince me he was better than Kelvin. I guess that is another one which I will leave to AP. That's what he is paid for and its him, not me, wot loses his job if he is consistently wrong.
