So no chance of me getting from fleet to Slough tomorow then !!??

I'm just down the road from you in Hartley Wintney. From the looks of the roads, I don't think you'll be going anywhere fast! Motorways will be cleared overnight though, and early in the morning, so once you get on there you ought to be alright.

3/4" in Fawley, only just stopped falling heavily now. Hoping it picks up again so I'm blocked in tomorrow morning & don't have to go to work!

My thoughts exactly.

I live in Blackfield and i just hope it continues throughout the night so i dont have to go to work in Nursling. But i also hope its all gone ready for the footy on Saturday.

Pretty heavy here in Bishops Waltham. About 5 to 6 inches i would guess. Still going like a blizzard out there.

Was walking back to the house when i saw a BMW being put on the back of a lorry. Asked what had happened and someone said the person had been trying to look really cool and do wheel spins etc.. Then lost it and hit a curb fecking up the front of it.

Seeing the deep snow on top of the convertible roof made me laugh a little. So there is a lesson in there, snow = not good for sports cars! :)

Think I will be happy to take a snow day tomorrow..Took me six hours to get home from Slough pre Christmas !! The little one is desperate to throw snow balls at me on the heath so no work for me I reckon !!

What is it with numpties abandoning their cars blocking the roads for us sensible drivers getting home

What is it with these people? A couple of inches of snow and they all decide that they'd better get out and walk. Modern cars all tend to be FWD so that makes it all easier. I remember driving round North London in the sixties in my dad's Ford Anglia 100E. Now that was a real challenge. Anything up to 6 or 8 inches of packed snow is no trouble on most of our roads. The odd hill can be a problem but as long as you get a run at it and ease off the power then it's a doddle. These kids today have never seen a real winter.

Ice is different though, and that's what we're going to get on Friday and Saturday with daytime temperatures not getting above 0ºC.

c*nting F*cking Sh*tty white crap, oh, and me being a complete Tw*t.

"lets make a snow man" i say to the missus, until we both get outside and realise niether of us have a key.

Sooo, the only option is to walk from weston to thornhill to her parents house for the spare.

Jesus, it's like the end of the world out there, cars stuck and abandoned everywhere, i had to help push a few up the hill.

It's crazy, out of this world. We are just as a nation not prepared for this sort of crap. Sooner i finish my training and get my 4x4 the better, oh,

and remembering keys will help !!!

& now the bloody snow has snagged my Sky signal !

The LNB is probably covered in snow. If you can reach it with a brush or broom then you should be able to sweep the snow off of it and get your signal back. Either that or sit and wait and hope the snow melts or blows away. Fortunately for me our dish is within arm's reach of a window.

Took 3 hours to get home from Chichester this evening. Cars abandoned all over the M27, on the slip roads and even one in the fast lane without the hazards on!

Approximately a one hour queue at the bottom of Portchester Hill to try the ascent.

W. Sussex/E. Hampshire has it bad, I'd estimate about 10" of it.

A27 is diabolical with 10mph causing problems.

Back here in Eastleigh it 's very thin in comparison!

3 hours to get from West Quay to Sholing, Bunny Hill & Millers Pond were impassable primarily because numpties were abandoning their cars so you couldn't give it a decent run up. To be fair it was sheet ice so it was a case of committing to the moment and going for it :)

Based on the queue on Kathleen Road I assume Bursledon Road was blocked as well? Ended up parking the car and walking across the valley to get home...

I'm up in the North of Hampshire, we've had 2 power cuts last night, it started snowing at 6pm and still hasn't stopped!

Let my dogs out into the garden earlier and one of them dissapeared, the collie was only just visible!

Work near Basingstoke and still mulling over whether it's worth trying to use the roads......

Boss has given me a Snow day 'ish I will be working at home and he will expect to see results by this afternoon when he returns from his days Skiing in Val D'Isere. C'est la vie.

Back to the snow, I have not seen snow like this for this long since I was a nipper (Canada apart 20 odd years ago).

We had about 20-25cm in sheffield yesterday. I tried to get to work and ended up having to abandon my car after I tried to be clever and take a shortcut to avoid the traffic. Didn't occur to me at first how hilly that route was and I got well and truly stuck. Had to walk 45 mins home in just my work shoes which have zero grip on the soles.

All good fun!

So, c'mon peeps, the world is waiting!

How is the end of the world? Have the pipes burst?

Have all the numpties who parked on the M27 been clamped or are the clampers stuck in the snow?

Your readers NEED to know

Hard and heavy here in Salisbury Phil. Spoke to m.i.m on phone and she is good. Whats the temp there?

Just got back from the obligatory panick buying session. No papers, so having to rely on you lot to find out the latest in the Poopey saga.

I went to Sainsburys in Chichester last night and they had completely sold out of bread at 8pm. The problem is that when there is panick buying you then tend to follow the pack. I was determined to buy some bread, if it bloody killed me. I drove round 3 convenience stores and 2 petrol stations to find a poxy loaf of no crust bread, as that was all that was left.

A good 6 or 7 inches here :)

Size does not matter, it's what you can do with it (apparently).

Thx, saved me a fiver phoning to check up!

Chilly 21C here mate couple of puffy clouds about.

Had to wear a fleece to watch the Burj opening though. Getting chilly in the evenings, but nowhere near cold.

Sounds like a slide down the hill to Deacons for emergency rations for you today ;)

Or more appropriately "skate" down there :D Gonna stick to the cup-a-soups for the time being. Maybe beer later if it looks like no work tommorow as well.
