Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 17 December, 2009 Share Posted 17 December, 2009 How do. Those that live in the Colchester/Basildon/Southend etc region will appreciate this after tonight: We have had a shed load of snow, and I had to abandon my car in some residential street that is 'permit holders only'. Is there any kind of exemption for extreme weather conditions or would that be down to the individual council! This close to Christmas, I don't want to be hit with a massive fine, or wait until the new year to get my back from the impound!
St Landrew Posted 17 December, 2009 Share Posted 17 December, 2009 Go back to it and leave a note, visible on the dashboard, before you can't find it.
RonManager Posted 17 December, 2009 Share Posted 17 December, 2009 Maybe ring the police and let them know - it least then it's on an official record.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 17 December, 2009 Author Share Posted 17 December, 2009 Thanks - Both good ideas, wish I had thought of them if I'm honest. I shall do both these things tomorrow as the car is 'parked' over a mile away! I won't be going into work tomorrow, so I'll have plenty of time to sort it. It's a bloody nightmare up here, Essex constabulary must be pulling their hair out. Nearly all in and out roads to Colchester are blocked with abandoned cars! Johnny Bognor Posted 18 December, 2009 Share Posted 18 December, 2009 To be fair, I would probably ring the council and the dept that deals with parking offences and log it with them. http://www.colchester.gov.uk/Info_page_two_pic_2_det.asp?art_id=9316&sec_id=2697
