St.Patrik Posted 17 December, 2009 Posted 17 December, 2009 Hes back in Sweden and its just popped up on Halstad BK´s official site that Michael Svensson is their new assistant coach. So he is now back at the club that he left 2001 to join Troyes and then moved to Saints 2002. Good Luck Michael and if everything is going great perhaps ha can comeback to Saints to coach again some day ? http://www.hbk.se/extra/news/?module_instance=1&id=5777
Red And White Barmy Army Posted 17 December, 2009 Posted 17 December, 2009 he certainly has the determination to succeed so we will see if he has the ability to coach now - hopefully he will get his opportunity to manage at a decent level sometime soon just to test him out really. Is the Halstad manager likely to be around for long? Would have thought that his best opportunity to manage would come when their manager goes and he has the opportunity to take the step up. If he makes it as a manager then i'm sure we'll give him a go in the prem maybe 5/6 years from now. Best of luck MS. Southampton legend and i hope we haven't seen the last of you on the southcoast.
Teddy Nutkins Posted 18 December, 2009 Posted 18 December, 2009 Good news, best of luck Michael. If you are half as good a coach as you were a centre back, you'll be a success.Could you imagine a fully fit killer playing in this team...........happy days.
Foxstone Posted 18 December, 2009 Posted 18 December, 2009 A fantastic servant to the club and a top, top player too ! I think I would dare say that the regard towards him from all corners of the club is universally high! Good luck Killer !
Nutwood2 Posted 18 December, 2009 Posted 18 December, 2009 Yes, all the best with this, Killer. If anyone deserves to succeed it's you mate!
Cheeky Monkey Posted 18 December, 2009 Posted 18 December, 2009 This man should be working for Saints. We need to toughen up the reserves/ young players and this man has the right attitude !!!
Hamilton Saint Posted 18 December, 2009 Posted 18 December, 2009 All the best to Michael. He's probably the player I have admired most in the last ten years - not just for his performances on the pitch, but the courageous and dogged way he dealt with his knee injury. His injury was probably the decisive element (not the only one, of course) that led to our relegation.
Gemmel Posted 18 December, 2009 Posted 18 December, 2009 Who signed him ....and agreed...Good luck MS
St.Patrik Posted 18 December, 2009 Author Posted 18 December, 2009 I smell a pre season tour to Sweden next summer : ) to play Halmstad again - I do even think that Killer might ask to loan some of our younger players that play for the ressies. Halmstad is not a rich club so some sort agreement might actually happen. Tim Sparv played for them last season and did ok - but he didnt get a new contract and has left the club.

That will do, it's only an hour away for me. I thought tim sparv was one of their best players?
swesaint Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 Yeah, Sparv has one of (if not the) best player for Halmstad last year. He's leaving for Groningen (bosman)
JerryH Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 It will be a good move for Michael Swvensson as he has had a "summer house" ( a second home) in Halmstad for many years - in the same area as Per Gessle of Roxette fame - so it is the minimum upheaval option for him - good luck to him and his family

He's renting until March, and then moving into the summer house. They've also got a plot of land that they will be building a house on, and that's the plan, although they need to get their ideas down on paper first, so it may take a while!
spyinthesky Posted 20 December, 2009 Posted 20 December, 2009 Killers house at Rownhams is on the market with Savilles at £675k if any one is interested. Normal finders fee rate applies
