SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 17 December, 2009 Author Posted 17 December, 2009 (edited) No, thats Liebherr. Mali Group do not as far as I know manufacture refirigerators, though even if they did I would argue that is quite heavy engineering :-) If you want to know what Markus' group of companies actually do visit their web site: http://www.mali-group.com/ and if like me you odn't understand much German click on the English version.Vectis i dont want Mali to sponsor Saints. Conflict of intrest and all that stuff! I want Liebherr to sponsor us. HTH Edited 17 December, 2009 by SOTONS EAST SIDE

westofshannonsaint Posted 18 December, 2009 Posted 18 December, 2009 I'd happily pay an extra few quid for a shirt with no sponsor, my retro is looking a bit faded & I hate wearing an add for some random company. oh I do quite like the idea of bringing back draper tools though.
Joensuu Posted 18 December, 2009 Posted 18 December, 2009 indeed...for once, I would like a world famous brand...maybe Mars BMW Ford Friends Provident or southampton leisure holdings No chance of getting FP back. They have decided that football is the wrong market, it doesn't match their intended customer... hense why they have gone into cricket sponsorship instead. Not sure if anything has changed since their takeover last August mind. BMW and Ford have both taken a clobbering in sales the last couple of years. They have weathered the storm, and sales are now back up... time to invest in marketing? Mars have ridden out the last couple of years with ease... as money becomes tighter we seem to cut back on our other luxuries and eat more chocolate.... Problem with BMW, Ford and Mars is they are all global brands, why would they look at a league one outfit? I agree with the rationalists, that sponsorship is inevitable. I'd love it if ML were to find the extra few hundred thousand to keep the shirts advertising clean. It's not going to happen...
bowers-sfc Posted 18 December, 2009 Posted 18 December, 2009 draper tools is obviosly the best one to have i think. most fans like it, and they have been very loyal through some hard times with the saints. dont know how interested they would be if given the chance though?
Stud mark of doom Posted 18 December, 2009 Posted 18 December, 2009 On a related theme, have you noticed that all the ads around the ground are gradually being replaced by Saints crests, including on both sides of the scoreboard. I presume they are not too bothered about selling at any price coz they know they will get lots more shortly....
SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 20 December, 2009 Author Posted 20 December, 2009 As a bit of alternative thinking, how about us sponsoring the skates! A first with a football team sponsoring a football team! lol
St Landrew Posted 20 December, 2009 Posted 20 December, 2009 As a bit of alternative thinking, how about us sponsoring the skates! A first with a football team sponsoring a football team! lol WoW..! What an original thought. And I can see how it benefits Saints. It keeps Southampton FC on the radar, plus it makes Pompey a sort of B team, waiting for the A team to emerge from its slumbers. OK, I made it read good. It's a non-starter, but fun.
