CWD Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 I have not been this excited about a football match since the playoffs. Its gonna be a cracker COYRs!
Window Cleaner Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 [quote=CWD;536532. Its gonna be a cracker COYRs! You could be disappointed, the uglier we make this game the better we will come out of it. I bet Huddersfield and Brentford didn't play very pretty football to get a draw from Leeds. We need a rock solid 5 man midfield to shut them down and frustrate them, they'll be looking for a result after 2 league draws, if we make it nasty earlier on they might just get sloppy enough for Lambert or Connolly to sneak 1.
Liquidshokk Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 Im so excited, and I just cant hide it... (I know, I know, I know, I know I just wee'd, I just wee'd....)...
St Michael Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 An hour to go at work here in Leeds, then I'm off to the game. Word from the locals is they're not too confident. I, however, for some unfathomable reason, am. COYR.

benjii Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 Why does everyone think they're much better than us? I bet they're not and they're not in good form. We should go there and look to give them a damn good thrashing.
dubai_phil Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 Had my first crucial txt updates of the day. It's cold There is a pub in Leeds that sells Old Speckled Hen. Don't think he's gonna trouble Motty's career record then. Looking forward to this in a jet lagged sort of way, but facing a crucial pre-match selection problem. Tsing Tao or Strongbow? Probably go for Strongbow & Ice just to wind up the opposition with it being so cold. Oh FYI last year we actually DID have snow just up the road on the mountains.... The pictures of the locals in their dish-dashes and sandals wading through it and all the 4x4's getting stuck was a true ROFL

Tough call, but a repeat of that draw would be a great result, hope I can stay awake until 7pm local time today I was at that one :-) came back from 2 down courtesy of Stevie Williams I think, Leeds fans very unhappy as they had expected to walk it. Went up there with 3 mates in my Vauxhall Chevette with a dying battery, thick snow on the ground, had to bump start it in a street near Elland Rd to get home - passing Leeds supporters offered no help but a lot of comments about our parentage. It got a bit hairy as I recall. 2nd leg at the dell (Curran Strikes - Wembly Now! - was the headline in the Echo - still got it somewhere) Leeds fans ripping up timber from the old stands and hurling them at us is about all i remeber of the game apart from the goal. Can't wait for the game - Come on Saints! - it's winnnable

Me and 3 mates drove up from Reading, ****ing cold in the open corner, great game (I think) and horrible journey back but made better by a swift pint or 2 in Wakefield?). Hope everyone gets there and back safely today, and we grab 3 points.

Probably line up something like -------------Bart------------ Thomas--Perry--Jaidi--Harding --------James--Hammond---- Waigo-----------------Lallana ------Lambert--Connolly------ Not entirely sure that this is our best team, and our bench looks incredibly lightweight. No sign of another striker on the bench either....suddenly i'm not very confident about today.

benjii Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 I would expect so. It's either that or a radical three-at-the-back!
hypochondriac Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 Get in! The team I wanted. I'm confident...

Under Weststand Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 Looks like a decent team to me Glad Thomas at RB & James in midfield. Looks quite a solid Unit.

We are playing 4 strikers (including Waigo and Lallana), and have Antonio on the bench. The only other options are Saga, who has not been used for ages and is not in the plans) and Paterson. To me the bench looks about as strong as we could muster, most of the players have played quite regularly, except perhaps Gobern. Does illustrate that we need another top class striker brought in during Jan though.
bjk Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 We're going to miss Morgan today. If he was playing i'd be more confident

opthomps Posted 19 December, 2009 Posted 19 December, 2009 a win today and i think I will spontaneously combust. Hope we dont miss Morgan though!

So, this guff about commentary beginning 30 minutes (or is it 60 minutes?) before kick-off only applies to home games? Or was that the situation in the past before they changed over to Saints Player? Whatever, it's very annoying!
