Leeds match - Build Up

A small contingency plan. Should we find ourselves behind at any stage, let's all sing:

"Beat you at Wembley

We're gonna beat you at Wembley

Beat you at Weeeeeeeeeembley

We're gonna beat you at Wembley."

But with 4 mins to go and it is Leeds 1 Saints 3 the song will be:

JINGLE BELLS JINGLE BELLS JINGLE ALL THE WAY

OH WHAT FUN IT IS TO SEE SOUTHAMPTON WIN AWAY!!!

I don't care if we lose this as long as we play well enough. A draw would be a good result, and I'd take that - a win would be absolutely fantastic.

Leeds haven't lost at home this season, and we're looking to continue our best away form in the post war period. If you're going to put a bet on - have a fullter on there being 4+ goals in this game!

I wouldn't be getting ****y about the JPT, the MK Dons will wasnt it as much as we do.

This match I'm going to stick my head out and go for a 3-3. (With us coming from behind for a change...)

I think the late drama on Tuesday night has made everyone forget that for large parts of the game we didn't actually play very well. We will need to improve massively for the Leeds game but having said that I do believe that we will do just that and also that Leeds are showing signs of cracking.

A good 2-2 would be alright by me but I wouldn't be surprised if we sneaked it.

We have to adopt a slightly different set up and put Thomas in at right back or Leeds will exploit this well known weekness....

We are all worried about the name, rather than the actual team. They may be top, but I don't think they are that good.

We are argubly the best team in the division on our day, so it should be a good one.

Indeed.

Charlton are second aren't they (?) and they're ****e.

Stop building Leeds up please as they are playing **** at the moment, we should expect to win this quite easily as Leeds should be worried about us, not us over them.

3-0 saints.

We have to now believe that at last we have a side that is capable of getting a result here, this is our first real test in a few games, lets show this league what we are capable of, with a win, and scare the rest of the table

Some people are getting a bit ahead of themselves.

Leeds are by far the best team in this division.

We should not be "expecting" to win at all, let alone "quite easily".

Agreed. Whilst we have as good a chance as ever to be able to get a result, we have to remember they are the league leaders. It's going to be a very tough game and I don't think anyone should get their hopes up too much.

Nevertheless, I can't wait to get on the train Saturday morning!

Looking forward to this one greatly. Our recent run of results has allows us to go into this game feeling a little bit more relaxed and allows us to be assured of not falling back into the mental despair of the bottom 4.

I like to set targets over a period of games. I asked for 10/12 between Hartlepool and Tranmere and we did great - full 12.

For Leeds (a), Exeter (h), Colchester (a) - we need to be picking up at least 5 points, by either L-W-W, W-W-L or D-W-D...

COYR!!!!!

Or..

"Leeds united are you listening, the johnstone paint trophy is glistening, we will see you in march, under the arch, walking in trophy wonderland."

I would go with...

Bart

James Perry Jaidi Harding

Antonio Hammond Schneiderlin Lallana

Connolly Lambert

I was tempted to say Trots instead of Perry to add pace to combat Beckford, and to try and accommodate Wotton for a bit of steel, and also Waigo because I think he is deserving of a run in the side, but consistency is usually best and I think we should impose ourselves on Leeds rather than allow Leeds' threats make us change the way we play. Thoughts?

I would definitely start with Papa for his pace and skills to wear out Leeds defenders, then bring on Antonio later. It always works that way. Otherwise I agree. And Papa is seriously in-form.

(Our right sided defence does need strengthening if we seriously have play-off ambitions.)

I'm pretty worried about James at RB for this one, as they do a lot of their attacking down their left flank, through Snodgrass. I would be tempted to play Thomas there if I was AP, as at least he is strong, so could potentially keep him quiet. All I can see James doing is getting caught out and giving away freekicks and penalties.

Sad to see on the same page that Southampton Schools are now officially crap.

Southampton used to be a really good place to go to school with KE,Itchen,GG,St Annes and Tauntons all producing hordes of really good scholars. In my year in U 6th there were about 15 of us who got scholarships

and places at top flight unis. Sad Sad Sad Day.

Sorry about the numerous typing mistakes from me there, I must've been tired.

If it does finish 0-0, I'd be very suprised. My money's going on 4+ goals, even when we play badly we seem to be scoring.

I reckon the game could be called off. Here in Lincolnshire we've got 4-6 inches of snow with more forecast. And it is not going to thaw judging by how ****ing cold it is.

Does anyone know what it's like up in Yorkshire?

Blimey a bit of snow and the world comes to a grinding halt. What happened the British get up and go spirit?

Look chaps I live in the East Riding about 12 miles from York and 36 from Leeds - it really isn't that bad. We've had a few inches this morning but stopped now. Even melting off the cars. I'm not saying it won't freeze again or there won't be more snow - but I can't see the game being called off at this stage. Not a hint of it in the local news.

People should be more worried about getting up there IMO.

I am... Getting the bingo bus, I'm quite worried that we'll have to stop or whatever. Not looking forward to the journey up there being out of my hands if you know what I mean.

I'm leaving my travel plans to the last minute. I'm ringing national rail in the morning to check on train services; if they are bad I'll drive, but if after ringing the highways agency that seems like a bad idea, I can safely say I won't be going!

It is silly really that in this day and age, Britain should grind to a halt because of 6 inches of snow.

Britain isn't grinding to a halt at all, you're just being a fanny about it all. There will be no problem at all driving up there, just leave with plenty of time and drive sensibly.

And why do we sing "Alan Pardew's Red Army" when we are in the away kit!? Even worse, there was a few 'RED ARMY"'s at Charlton, and they were playing in red!!

It's "Alan pardew's red and white army"

The "pork pork pork" santa hat wearing mongs sang "alan pardew's red army". I hope them mongtards are not going tomorrow ffs

Alright then smart-arse.

What's smart about pointing out the fact that stupid ginger virgins that wear santa hats, and have great big man boobs get the words to the songs wrong? "Alan pardew's red army" is harder to sing than red and white army. I think you might be one of the pork pork brigade come to think of it. LOL@you

I think we've stumbled onto a reincarnation of Tiggs.
