Weston Saint Posted 5 August, 2008 Posted 5 August, 2008 An innings of 170 from batsman Jimmy Adams helped Hampshire into the final of the Second XI Trophy with a 118-run victory over Glamorgan. Adams shared an opening stand of 282 with teenage batsman Benny Howell (103), as Hampshire piled up 310-2 in their 50 overs. Glamorgan could only muster 192 all out in reply to crash to defeat. Hampshire now meet Essex in the final on 1 September, after Essex beat Leicestershire by eight wickets. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/counties/hampshire/7542259.stm
Leicestersaint Posted 5 August, 2008 Posted 5 August, 2008 Good result and encouraging for the future.
Gully Posted 5 August, 2008 Posted 5 August, 2008 Makes you wonder why we persist with the same failing batting line up. I appreciate that Carbury, Crawley, Ervine, Lumb and probably one or two others occasionally do the job but if we rotated it a bit more the existing order might be a bit less complacent.
