StuRomseySaint Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 Pompey have sold just 900 tickets (LMAO ) for their clash with Chelsea tonight at Stamford Bridge, tickets are available on the day. Tickets for their home clash with Liverpool on Saturday are now on general sale and it looks like tickets will be available on the day. Ticket Prices have also been cut for 7 of Pompeys remaining fixtures. The price cuts apply to the remaining home games against Burnley, Birmingham, Sunderland, Stoke, Hull, Blackburn and Wolves. So in summary........ plenty of spare tickets down the road........ general sale in a 20k capacity for a Liverpool game and only 900 tickets sold for Chelsea away????
Crab Lungs Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 LMAO - I can hear the excuses now: 'It's xmas time' 'Just been to Sunderland away' (er, that will only apply to 150 of your fans then, LMAO) 'Chelsea tickets are expensive' blah blah blah - The fish fiddlers should be enjoying the Prem while they're still in it - they ain't going to be seeing it again any time soon....

Sour Mash Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 As much as I f*****g hate those c***s from down the road, I find it hard to blame anyone for not paying the stupid money that gets charged for tickets in the prem, especially for grounds you've been to before and know you have very little chance of winning. Pay £44-47 for Chelsea away when we're back up there? Not me.

Surely they think they can beat Chelsea?

Surely they think they can beat Chelsea? Maybe, just think of all the many things we can rip the p**s out of them for, selling near 1k away at Chelsea with prices at £44-47 aint that bad. If anything we should rip the p**s out of them for spending that sort of money watching that ****e...

the colonel Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 Well I will be there so that's one more.....oooops no it won't I will be in the Shed End...come on Chelsea.
Crab Lungs Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 Would we sell more than 900 tickets for a midweek game against Chelsea? Yes, yes we would. I'd imagine we would take our full allocation, regardless of the price and the festive season - likewise at all the big teams we would. We'd struggle (all things considered) for games at Stoke, Hull etc but I honestly don't think we'd take less than 1,000 to a Prem game if we were up there. The good news is we'll be able to my theory soon "Sleeping Giant" LMFAO.... I remember the Skates using that turn of phrase.

I don't think so stink-fingers. And there go the excuses. 80 odd miles away and you can't even take 1,000 fans. In the Premier League. I'd expect it from a smaller northern team, but from a team as close as you lot are? Pathetic.
mack rill Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 give 'em a break - it's a very long way to travel in the dark. And the tides out.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 Would we sell more than 900 tickets for a midweek game against Chelsea? Yes, yes we would. Course we would. We took near on 3000 to Swindon for a mid-week game. That's League One. Pompey fans are a joke.
Crab Lungs Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 Oi fishy, we're 2 leagues below you and we're playing even closer to Xmas than you. And it's freezing. And we're still taking 2000 odd to Leeds.
Master Bates Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 "Sleeping Giant" LMFAO.... I remember the Skates using that turn of phrase. BFG's a sleeping giant.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 Penalty - Lampard - Yeeeeees! 2 - 1
RedWillie Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 chelsea mate went at weekend for the Everton game. £55 for his tkt. No thanks
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 Luvverly stuff, Chelsea back above the Mancs! Skates did play well for most of the game, they really deserved a point at least. Pah! Yeeuk! Just swallowed the soap as I washed my mouth out!
Fan The Flames Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 They really are a small club, nothing wrong in it, just like Bournemouth. Clowns to left of us jokers to the right, here we are....
Sour Mash Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 chelsea mate went at weekend for the Everton game. £55 for his tkt. No thanks It's mental mate, I'm loving League One, fair prices, proper football grounds, class days out and a good chance of a result. The idea of paying circa £40 at a lot of the prem grounds would def put me off, can't believe there is that many people out there who are happy to pay it week in week out.
Thedelldays Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 lovely stuff.....they lost again.. next up, liverpool
Saint J 77 Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 This result has made my night , its been a good week so far. Lets hope for more of the same from both Saints and Pompey at the weekend
CB Saint Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 They must now need at least a point a game just to stay up. They're doomed.

Ponty Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 They were a touch unlucky tonight and actually look better than flat bottom of the league suggests. They're certainly no Derby County.
benjii Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 They were a touch unlucky tonight and actually look better than flat bottom of the league suggests. They're certainly no Derby County. They have done all season. That actually makes it even funnier.

CB Saint Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 indeed...quality how many players are they about to lose for a month or so..? six I believe Heh Heh Heh
Under Weststand Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 Been at work till 10 heard the result, real ROTFPMSL moment when I heard how they lost. Real heart breaker for them last minute penalty. Can it get any funnier?
NickG Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 They must now need at least a point a game just to stay up. They're doomed. others aren't pulling away yet
Whitey Grandad Posted 16 December, 2009 Posted 16 December, 2009 They'll almost certainly be bottom at Christmas. Only West Ham have been there and survived, I believe.
Fan The Flames Posted 17 December, 2009 Posted 17 December, 2009 They'll almost certainly be bottom at Christmas. Only West Ham have been there and survived, I believe. West Brom, the year we went down, thanks to a Pompey give me.
Jimmy_D Posted 17 December, 2009 Posted 17 December, 2009 They need to beat Liverpool to avoid bottom, although a win would almost certainly see them off the bottom as West Ham are against Chelsea, there needs to be a 3 goal change in the goal difference.
Micky Posted 17 December, 2009 Posted 17 December, 2009 Been at work till 10 heard the result, real ROTFPMSL moment when I heard how they lost. Real heart breaker for them last minute penalty. Can it get any funnier? Hardly last minute (79th) - still had time to get something out of the game. But they didn't... shame....
Micky Posted 17 December, 2009 Posted 17 December, 2009 others aren't pulling away yet Exactly - the PL is pretty shocking this season, you would have thought that they would have been cut adrift by now - but they are still clinging on to others coat tails. If they put a couple of decent results togeather they could still get out of it. 15 Everton 16 17 16 Hull City 17 17 17 Bolton Wanderers 16 16 18 Wolverhampton Wanderers 17 16 19 West Ham United 17 14 20 Portsmouth 16 11
Whitey Grandad Posted 17 December, 2009 Posted 17 December, 2009 West Brom, the year we went down, thanks to a Pompey give me. Ta, I knew it was West something.
Jimmy_D Posted 17 December, 2009 Posted 17 December, 2009 http://www.mikeavery.co.uk/Attendance%20All%20Teams%20High%20to%20Low.htm and slightly back on topic... also a good read
CB Saint Posted 17 December, 2009 Posted 17 December, 2009 others aren't pulling away yet True, but they are now half way through with only 11 points and facing six players leaving to the African Nations Cup whilst saddled with a transfer embargo, oh and with the threat of their Sky money going direct to the creditors. They're doomed.

Saint Lindford Posted 17 December, 2009 Posted 17 December, 2009 Quote from todays Telegraph:- At one point Lampard had, after being goaded by the visiting fans, turned to, in good spirit, count their meagre number. Blue few indeed
the colonel Posted 17 December, 2009 Posted 17 December, 2009 Quote from todays Telegraph:- At one point Lampard had, after being goaded by the visiting fans, turned to, in good spirit, count their meagre number. Blue few indeed I was there with a m8 last night and this happen right in front of us. We were only a few seats along from the skates and chanting to the chimes chorus......'**** club no fans'....then Lampard came up to take a corner and turned towards them and started counting. Funny as fuuuck. So those of you that know some of the blue few it has to be worth asking how many he counted to and if he needed both hands?
