Wes Tender Posted 16 December, 2009 Share Posted 16 December, 2009 No, but they did anyway. Their general play was better than ours IMO. Again, I disagree. But it's all opinions. It is easy to have the impression that it was the other way around, as we were chasing the game and scored right at the death, whereas our purple patch was earlier, 20 minutes of the first half and then more dominant also in the last half of the second half. And I reiterate, the proof was that the better team didn't indulge in cynical gamesmanship and cheating. We continued to play good passing and attacking football and eventually gained our reward. RedAndWhite91 Posted 16 December, 2009 Share Posted 16 December, 2009 Rubbish! Antonio didn't touch him, f*cking incensed me that did! How about they ask Lambert about the deliberate foul play to hack Antonio down when he'd had a pretty clear run on goal. Should have been a red card, don't care if there were other defenders around him it was a deliberate & professional foul. I suppose Lambert also missed the boot to the face Harding received shortly after? C*nt. Agree with this completely. What got me was that Holt was rolling around holding his face, looked up, saw the ref come over to him, then rolled around more dramatically. Then he looked up and saw nothing was going to come of it, then just got up and ran back onto the field. Pr!ck.
niceandfriendly Posted 16 December, 2009 Share Posted 16 December, 2009 My Norwich supporting friend totally disagrees with Lambert and he couldn't believe what he saw his team do in the last 10 minutes. They totally lost the plot and starting concentrating more on cheating than they did trying to see out the game. He said he's never seen them do that before. Norwich and Paul Lambert got exactly what they deserved.
Whitey Grandad Posted 16 December, 2009 Share Posted 16 December, 2009 Just seen the highlights and the Lino's flag didn't go up for the through ball. It may have gone up afterwards but out of shot of the camera. I thought Holt was off-side when I saw it live and he definitely looks goal side of Harding, when the ball is played, although it's not totally conclusive. I thought Holt was offside at the time but the highlights are not so conclusive. What I did notice was James standing between two of their players with his hand in the air and then trying to get back to cover the goal. If he'd done that to start with he might have blocked the shot.
Whitey Grandad Posted 16 December, 2009 Share Posted 16 December, 2009 Holt is a big softy. What did Antonio do, elbow him in the knees?
(not THE) Kevin Moore Posted 16 December, 2009 Share Posted 16 December, 2009 When did Holt score? yeah good point, before he set up the goal was what I meant but in my haste got it all wrong.... much like the lino Anyone know where/when I can see highlights? niceandfriendly Posted 16 December, 2009 Share Posted 16 December, 2009 If the lino was flagging he was probably doing so to indicate that it was a penalty, because I don't think Bart touched the ball when Holt went down.

I thought we looked a lot better in the first than the second and for most of the second half I didn't think we looked like scoring. Our midfield looked really fatigued and they defended really well albeit a touch industrial!!! Saying that they seemed to lack the killer finish up front!! Also, I'm sure if I was seeing things but did Hammond take a massive kick at one of there midfielders after getting fouled (ref waved play on!!) bender Posted 16 December, 2009 Share Posted 16 December, 2009 I was right there where it happened. Holt had been playing handbags with the entire Saints team until that point. There seemed a collision between a few of them and for me Holt was elbowed in the face. It was really quick and the Norwich tub of lard completely went overboard with the rolling around. I couldnt really care at that point coz I thought we were out. He quickly got up and trotted off once he realised the ref wasnt giving anything, and seconds later - glory. RonManager Posted 16 December, 2009 Share Posted 16 December, 2009 Also, I'm sure if I was seeing things but did Hammond take a massive kick at one of there midfielders after getting fouled (ref waved play on!!) Yes I saw that - lucky boy especially being on 4 yellows. I expected to see play stopped and a card given but it didn't happen - strange.

SNSUN Posted 16 December, 2009 Share Posted 16 December, 2009 I'm taking the Wenger tactic and saying I didn't see what happened, all I saw was a Norwich player rolling around on the floor for ages - I thought it was blatent time wasting tactics. Norwich were time wasting from about 15 minutes before the end of the game. Free kicks, throw ins, goal kicks, everything was taking ages. No wonder it escalated into a bit of fisticuffs. Saint J 77 Posted 16 December, 2009 Share Posted 16 December, 2009 I was just listening to his comments on the BBC http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/8410648.stm and all I can say to Paul Lambert is "cry me a river pal " I mean come on this sort of thing happens all the time in football that’s why we love it, well apart from when we hate it when it happens to our team. But that’s the beauty of the game, one week it goes for you the next week it doesn’t!
